4.5 stars SO GOOD!! We were a group of 5. Everything looked so good we decided to get different dishes and see what we thought of each. On our plates: Cuban Sandwich Surf and Turf Special Fish and Chips Chicken Carbonara Pork tacos Shareables: Mac n Cheese with bacon and fried jalapeños A side a fried jalapeños with dipping sauce. Chocolate mocha mousse
Cuban Sandwich was a hit! It had cheese whiz on it, which seemed odd, but it worked well!! Surf and Turf - This is where we lose half a star. It needed more seasonings. The steak was plain and the comment made was. We can make a better steak at home. Fish and Chips - Beer battered, crispy goodness, another hit! Chicken Carbonara - The seasoning on the chicken was amazing! The pasta and sauce were awesome and both this dish and the fish dish came in HUGE bowls! It was such a fun presentation! Pork Tacis - this was my dish and it was very tasty! The pork is a bit spicy, which I loved! Mac n Cheese with bacon and fried jalapeños - Tgis was my favorite!! I coukd eat the entire bowl, but we shared. Creamy, yummy goodness, I want more right now! Fried Jalapeños - Such a tasty treat and the sauce it comes with add to the experience! Chocolate Mocha Mousse - Another shared treat which was enjoyed by all, I loved the coffee flavoring the most, just the right amount! Also! I had ice tea and it was some of the most amazing iced tea I've ever had!! Another thing we saw the boss out cleaning tables, sweeping and helping to keep the evening moving smoothly. This deserves some applause as its not something you see often. As it got crowded the high ceilings made it quite noisy, which is another tiny downside. Overall great experience and we...
Read moreService dogs are NOT welcome in this restaurant.
I was barely seated and my REAL service dog which mitigates a DAIGNOSED DISABILITY was already under the table when a woman came to our table. She did not identify herself, but was not a server. She proceed to tell me all of the rules my dog must follow, which included not being petted under the table because then the hair gets everywhere and there are people are trying to eat and it is unsanitary to have a dog in a restaurant. She pointed to where my dog must lay under the table (he was already there) and stated that he cannot be anywhere else because it can cause a scene. She went on to say that she has had dogs come in and get feces on the floor.
Finally, she asked the only 2 questions she is legally allowed to ask by the FDA, almost as an afterthought.
It was a very upsetting experience. My dog did nothing but walk in and tuck under the table. He did not make a grand entrance or interact with other diners. He did not make a sound (she forgot to tell me he wasn't allowed to bark) or get feces on the floor. He did not snuffle around looking for food crumbs or beg. She also forgot to tell me that licking the floor and chewing the legs of the furniture was not allowed either. But that's ok, because my well behaved service dog did not to do either of those things.
After the unidentified woman left the wait staff who took care of us was very attentive and seemed apologetic. The food, as has been my experience there before without my service dog, was delicious and plentiful.
If you go to this restaurant with your legitimate service dog, be prepared to...
Read moreThis place is so good. Even though it's quite the drive for me from Boise, it's one of my go-to's for delicious brunch and I always recommend it to my friends and family. All their menu items are very thoughtfully crafted. There really is something for everyone here!
My favorite dish is the Spicy Thai Rice Bowl (thai sauce, white rice, radishes, carrots, daikon, crispy jalapenos, fresh cilantro, avocado, mint, cashews, lime) with chicken. There's a lot going on here, and everything mixes so well together. Each bite is a new experience! The crispy jalapenos are my favorite part. I don't find them very spicy, however I have a very high tolerance for spicy food.
Another dish I frequently order is the Farro Salad. Not only does it taste amazing, but it's very unique. Again, there's a lot of ingredients that all go together deliciously. The farro is always cooked perfectly, and I love the addition of pomegranates. The kitchen is very accommodating in that you can easily substitute ingredients - I hate blue cheese, which is usually on this salad but I always sub feta. The balsamic vinaigrette is heavenly.
As great as these dishes are, if you're dining for the first time I can't recommend the Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese enough! Someone in my group always gets this. It's delicious x 100. I highly recommend splurging an extra $2.00 for bacon or ham.
Honorable mentions: The Chicken Alfredo is chef's kiss. The Grit Dip and Fried Chicken are...
