Blues and Shoes — Local services in Carlsbad

So .... I avoid cheap boutique stores like this as a general rule. Things fall apart and the return policies are normally ridiculous.

Was on my way to LAX for a work trip and needed some new basic camis. Fine.

Got my camis saw a very cute summer shirt and thought “no way this can go badly, give it a chance”.

Bought the shirt - took the tag off packed it for my trip. Got to my destination realized there was a hole in the shirt along the seam, thought “no big deal, will just exchange it when I get home”.

Called the store to explain the situation and that I wanted to see if I could EXCHANGE (not looking for a refund or store credit) I still had the tags although not attached and had my credit card statement showing a charge 9 days prior. Well, because the tags aren’t attached and I don’t have the original receipt, they “cannot exchange the item”. Cannot or will not?

I get there are people out there that do shady stuff, but I bought a shirt with a hole (that shouldn’t have had a hole - I’m not that trendy 😉) and I would like to get what I paid for.

Since I discovered how awesome their clothes and shoe selection is, I am absolutely hooked. At first I was a little put off on the sales associates pulling multitudes of clothing for me to try on, but I found it to be so helpful. My goal has been to come out of my mundane fashion hell and try new styles. I am very resistant to change and scoffed on many occasions on items pulled that I would have never thought twice about looking at let alone trying on. I have learned to go with it when these items are passed/recommended to me it has resulted in so many purchases I am embarrassed to admit but my closet has never been more diverse! I get excited just looking at the many options I now have to choose from. The stylists are always so sweet and right there alongside you to lend their opinions and insights. This review of course extends to Ragz Dressware and The Beat clothing all located within a block of one another but with just different twist of styles to meet the needs of all sorts of fashionistas. I am from out of town and always shop at the store when I visit Carlsbad. In the past, they have been great and I’ve always been very pleased. This time I bought two pair of jeans,, I wore one pair and they really stretched out so I took the second pair back to see if I could exchange for a smaller size. The gal in the store said I needed my original receipt, I told her it was in my email and she said I needed the actual paper receipt. (??) She also said her store policy was only a seven day return, I was at nine days. So they would not allow me to exchange the pair I never wore for the exact same jeans in a smaller size. I can understand not exchanging them for something new, but I wanted the exact same pair just in a smaller size. What happened to the...
