This place discriminates on the patrons who go there to have fun. We went there to have s good time and had 3 drinks before we were approached by security telling my friend that he had to leave because he seemed like he was drunk because he was limping, well my friend wears a prosthetic which was the reason for his limp. They never approached him and asked him why he was limping all they did was point fingers and said that he was drunk cause of his limp. The security guy said that his manager had told him to tell my friend he had to leave for that reason. Well we explained why he was limping and we refuse to leave. I was baffled for the way my friend was being discriminated against just for his limp. We asked to speak to the manager and we were told no. You would think if an issue arises and a customer needs to spesk to a manager in regards to an issue there eould come down and speak to that custoner, its part of customer service, you dont just leave a customer standing there not being helped. So we waited for a friend to come downstairs so we can leave the premises because we were not gonna stay in a a place that discriminates against their patrons. Before leaving I approached a female security and asked to see if they had a business card for the manager and she said no and she asked why I needed one. I told her so I can file a complaint against him for discrimination. Since she didn't have a card I asked her to have the manager come talk to me and she said no, so this is when I told her my lawyers will take care of this matter thank you and walked away. Well right before we exited the building the first initial security guy that tried to kick my friend out for saying he was drunk for limping not knowing my friend wears a prosthetic leg came up with the manager, this was only after I mentioned lawyers. We spoke to the manager and he apologized and said he didn't know my friend had a prosthetic, so I told him you never asked or approached my friend why he was limping or if he was ok. He just assumed my friend was drunk because he was limping. I told the manager he can face a potential discrimination suit for the actions he took and all he could do was apologize. All previous reviews talks about how bad security is in this place and this has taken it to another level. We will no longer patronize this place because of the discrimination my friend...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePUBLIC SAFETY WARNING PLEASE READ THEIR REVIEWS. DO NOT GO HERE. Security at these bars is behaving aggressively toward customers especially towards black peopleā and ownership refuses to take accountability.
Shame on Kathy Guadagnoli, the owner, for ignoring years of public complaints about her security making people feel unsafe. She owns Blondies, Mansion, Gasoline Alley, and Cowboys, and based on our experience and other reviews, this culture is consistent across her establishments.
We were out celebrating our friendsā engagement. At first, Blondies was fun. Then my boyfriend went to the restroom. While he was in the stall, a security guard began banging on the door, ordering him to leave for āsuspicious activity.ā No one had even entered the bathroom while he was in there to supposedly āreport suspicious activityā as the security guard claimed. He had already been patted down at the entrance and had nothing on him.
We cooperated and left immediately without arguing. Our group of 15ā20 walked out together. I stayed beside the guard asking what was going on. His only answer: āWeāll talk outside.ā
Once outside, he still refused to explain ā then suddenly shoved my boyfriend in what appeared to be an attempt to start a fight. Another guard had to restrain him, clearly aware his coworker had crossed the line. My boyfriend distanced himself, and I kept asking questions. Still no answers and the security guard just walked back inside to go find his next victim.
To top it off, Gasoline Alley then refused to let us in ā without reason.
This was not just unprofessional ā it was dangerous. No customer should have to worry about being assaulted by staff for no reason. According to many other reviews, this seems to be reoccurring.
Kathy Guadagnoli and your management teams: Do better. I doubt youāll care about this review, but I believe and have witnessed karma work its magic ā and itās coming for all yāall in these establishments whom arenāt taking accountability.
Weāll be spending our time and money at better, safer places like COATI, Bloom, and Tiki Bar, where the environment is welcoming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām typically a normal here when my friends and I go out on the weekend - that might change. We went this past weekend and had quite the experience with a young lady at the bar (bartender). I ordered a simple vodka and Redbull and (admittedly) I didnāt tip as I felt opening a premade drink into a glass and adding ice was not worth it. (I mean how hard is that really?) The bartender took note of this and when I went up again to order a lemon drop shot she abruptly told me verbatim āIām not going to serve you if you donāt tipā. After checking my bank account later that evening I noticed a transaction had gone through on my orders with more than the receipt amount I had signed for. (In short, she ended up adding a tip for herself of which I didnāt approve.)
Hereās the issue: 1. Under my understanding, a tip is a courtesy NOT a requirement to be served (they also do not note this āpolicyā anywhere on signs or their website that a tip is required). 2. I have gone multiple times before and done the exact same and this has never ever been an issue. (Also was what wouldāve been a $1.00 tip really worth going out of your way to be rude to a customer?)
I get that those in the serving industry value tips and the extra money, but what happened tonight was uncalled for, unprofessional, and quite frankly Iām pretty baffled that that even happened.. it definitely put a damper on the rest...
