We stopped into Cooper’s Hawk mostly to redeem our monthly wine bottle (arguably the real draw of the place), and decided to keep it light on the food this round—just ordered the Crab, Shrimp & Lobster Bisque and water, plus the bottle to-go.
🥣 The bisque was piping hot, creamy, and full of seafood flavor—a solid pick and probably one of the better items on the menu.
From previous visits, here’s a quick cheat sheet of what’s worth trying: • Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon – reliable and flavorful • Over the Border Egg Rolls – crispy, crowd-pleasing appetizer • Pretzel Bread – hit or miss (some days warm and soft, others dry)
Beyond that, most entrées fall into the “fine, but forgettable” category. It’s not that the food is bad—it’s just standard chain-restaurant fare that doesn’t match the winery vibe.
🍷 The wine is the real star. If you enjoy wine, joining the wine club is where the value kicks in: monthly bottles, tastings, and access to new varietals. You can also order flights or glasses to sample a few styles, and staff are happy to make suggestions.

🪞 Ambiance: Clean, polished, and modern. The big windows add lots of light during the day, and while it gets loud during peak hours, it still manages to feel upscale-casual. Great for a date night, birthday dinner, or a glass of wine with friends.
👩🏽🍳 Service: Even though we only ordered soup and water, the service was warm and attentive. No pressure, no rush. Everything came out quickly and with care—definitely a bright spot in the experience.

✅ Pro Tips for First-Time Diners: • Start with soup or an appetizer before committing to a full entrée • Wine club is the best value if you’re a regular • Reservations recommended on weekends • Go for the wine, and treat the food as a bonus—not the main attraction
—
Bottom Line: If you’re visiting for the food alone, set your expectations at comfortable chain-dining level. But if you’re here for the wine-forward experience, with decent food on the side, you’ll leave satisfied. Think of it more as a tasting room with food service than a fine-dining destination.

Read moreI’m not a review type of customer, particularly when the experience is subpar. Additionally, I’ll note that I’m a low-maintenance, introverted customer that does not need heavy pleasantries or attentiveness. However, I must share how disappointed I was with the Coopers Hawk location in Easton, OH. It started with the blatant disregard of the servers and manager while seated at the high top table by the bar. NO ONE ACKNOWLEDGED ME…at all. It was bustling and energetic atmosphere (being fair and gave the Atmosphere 4 stars), so I didn’t expect a server to entertain me, but I must mentioned how the service and lack of regard were absolutely hideous. After waiting over 10 mins at the filthy table top that had leftovers from the previous diner, I kindly got up and approached the hostess and manager, thinking perhaps I chose the wrong section. I asked if I could be seated in the dining room because no one had come over to greet me. She decided that she would just move me to a booth in the bar area. Nothing changed with the disregard, as I was still ignored. Eventually someone (who was not the server) came over, but to first ask if the hostess sat me there. I respond in the affirmative. I had no menu yet, so she was at least kind enough to give me a menu and bring me a water. She came back and shared that she will be helping the server. Ok cool! I quickly ordered food with her, because there was no telling as to when or if the server would ever come. I ordered the braised short rib WITHOUT the mustard butter. I had started disarming myself at this point, but I must admit that I was very disappointed because the manager that was at the hostess stand, heard my complaint, and never stepped in, checked on me, apologized, or made any attempts to make me feel comfortable. I simply kept my composure and thought “well, I at least had an opportunity to order my food. Maybe things will turn around.” Negative! A runner brings out the warm (at best!) order with the mustard butter on it. The server nor the woman helping the server are no where to be found. After 5 mins, I literally had to grab my belongings, the dish, and walk around to find her to tell her about the order. She said she told them no mustard butter and took the plate. A spot opens at the bar, and I think maybe this will be the key to better service. I sat there and the bartenders walked to and fro and no one acknowledged me at the bar either! I ended up just leaving the restaurant…hungry and disappointed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DINING THERE…and if someone from the restaurant sees thus, I do not need a gift certificate for an appetizer. (That was never my intention in writing this complaint) If you want to make it right, CHANGE… so other diners don’t have similar...
Read moreJust for context, the two stars for service has nothing to do with my server James, he was excellent in every way nor was for against the food, the food was great, my steak was perfectly cooked.
The two stars for the great food and great table side service but unfortunately I had to dock two stars for the unwillingness of the management to make a small exception to the rules to make a first-time customer’s experience a memorable one.
I decided to give Cooper’s Hawk a try since normally I frequent Mastro’s (been to the DC location more often) but got to the new Easton location before 4pm so they were still closed. Had a delicious lunch. When I went to pay, I unfortunately was still waiting for my replacement Chase credit card to arrive so I was using a photo of the back of my old one (with my name on it) and my Photo ID and my other Chase credit card to prove my Identity. I wanted them to run it using the card number instead of swiping it since I didn’t have the physical card on hand. But when they said they wouldn’t run the card number despite offering proof of identity, I tried asking them if they had Apple Pay but they didn’t have it. I only wanted to run it on that specific Chase credit card to gain those points (for those who know, you know, those sweet 3x dining points).
Unfortunately, management stated they wouldn’t do that because I didn’t have the physical card which I didn’t a problem with because they stated their machine didn’t accept cards without using the chip. No harm no foul right? Nope, then they proceeded to tell me actually they can run the numbers but only if they had the physical card… then that defeats the point? I don’t mind being told no we can’t do that but don’t tell me you’re only doing it to “protect me” when I have proof of my own identity… plus, if my card was compromised, I can just dispute the transaction? Which Chase happily states in their Card Holder Agreement that I’m not responsible for any fraudulent charges but I digress. I’m sorry but this was just a disappointment, I had high hopes but being lied straight to my face just sort of ruined my experience.
Such a shame because the food was great… but if you aren’t in my position, I can highly recommend the food. But if you’re ever in the position where you’re in a bind and just need a little accommodations, don’t expect management to be even the tiniest bit accommodative even if it just involves typing numbers into the POS system.
Just for context, I did the same thing at The Guild House (which is a Cameron Mitchell Restaurant) and they had no issue with doing that… funny...
