I have been following Filberto’s for some time now and was so happy to hear they signed a lease at Bank’s Food Hall, being in the food industry myself, I couldn’t escape on the weekends to catch them at their local markets and street fairs. First of all, I love where Banks Food Hall is located on the peaceful and picturesque Chattahoochee River. The food hall has an array of food and dessert options and the layout is really cool. Filberto’s is located basically in a wing of their own with plenty of tables for all their patrons. We wondered over to Maltitude for a few beers and then settled in their bright and airy branch of the building. The food was fabulous! Each bite was a very good balance of Filipino flavors with their family’s signature flare. The sawsawan for the oversized lumpiang gulay was a pleasantly sweet vinegar dipping sauce, sweet on the front end and sour on the backend. A perfectly curated bite. The chicken and pork BBQ had universal appeal that both Filipino’s and southerners would love and appreciate, and I thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions of Bistek and Chicken adobo as well. The Buko Pandan had little morsels of a velvety creamy cheese that had me eating almost a whole serving in search to find more. For the record, there are large commercial fans pushing air into the space for maximum comfort. I rather enjoyed the comfort they provided while eating my food. Please don’t forget the Food Hall is a shared commercial space, and that the tenants of this space do not have control over the common area elements. Please don’t knock the food vendors for things they have absolutely no control over. Also, I personally spoke to a few different store owners in this hip food hall collective and they were all very vocal about how happy they were to have Filberto’s there as they have seen a significant increase in foot traffic since they opened. Let’s celebrate that the trending #filipinofoodmovement can contribute to the livelihood of others (even outside of our community) just by existing. And for that, this establishment and their exceptional food and service should always get 5 stars across the board. Bravo! And congratulations Filberto’s! Best of luck to you, your staff, and all of your peers at Bank’s Food...
Read moreFood is excellent. My only complaint is the cashier who took our order. He wasn’t welcoming. He looks like he didnt want to be there. The other guy with him was eating behind the counter. He eventually came and sat where the tables were, but it just looked unprofessional. We had the chicken skewers, pancit and lumpias. My 5 and 7 year old loved it. The white rice was regular white unseasoned rice. There was no extra salt or pepper on the tables. Only the small salt and pepper that comes in the pre packaged plastic spoon/ fork/ knife. Not that the food lacks flavor but the plain white rice could of used a little salt, for my taste. The plastic coke and dr pepper were not cold and were flat. I would come back with my own drink or take it to go. The fan blow sooo hard we jumped table to table looking to avoid the fans, it made the food cold, the food was already luke warm.
Update. I’ve come back to give this place a 5 star. Beyond all the small things from the above initial review, this place has my heart. I find my self craving it. Everyone i send or bring loves it as well. Their staff has also been changed and love seeing those friendly smiles at...
Read moreGreat food!! Very large portions. I got two entrees (pork adobo and pork skewers) with pancit. The pancit was standard but still very hearty, I personally would do half pancit and half rice next time.
The pork adobo was shoulder meat, so the fat wasn’t sickening and I got a total a 5 or 6 large pieces! The texture was tender and melts in your mouth, the lean portion was not try and full of flavor. The pork skewer was a bit too sweet for my taste, but highly rated by my friends, including the Filipino friend. I wish they let me do half chicken and half pork adobo, both looked really good.
Want to mention that if you are a vegetarian there’s nothing for you, which is kind of expected for most Filipino dishes. My pancit still had chicken in it. But there are plenty of other food options in the Bank food hall and surrounding areas, so it can still be an enjoyable lunch with vegetarian friends.
The halo halo was out which was a bummer, my Filipino friend said it was really good. So definitely...
