Let me start by saying the first visit I had with this restaurant was amazing ! Our server can’t remember his name was great me and my sister had a full stomach and smiles when we left . I recently visited again and it was not so pleasant . Our server was very young and did not great us for 20 mins after sitting( there were about 5 tables in the whole restaurant) when she did great us she did not seem happy to serve us. I order a latte and my bestfriend orders a margarita. Our drinks took another 20 mins to come out and my latte had pieces of green looking leaf in it so I sent it back . While we were deciding on our food our server was not patient with us and still didn’t seem happy . She would walk away and turn her back as if we were finished talked to her when we weren’t she’d ask us question across the restaurant and just seemed to be rushing. She threw her pin in the middle of taking our order because it stopped working. We asked for straws for our drinks multiple times (as a server you should carry these in your apron). I ordered a burger with fries and a salad . When we got our food I never got my salad … the burger was not that bad tasting but could’ve had more seasoning . I added avocado to my burger and instead of smashing it or even cutting it up they put the whole chunk just on the burger . My fries were wayyyy to salty to the point you could see how much salty were on them. My bestfriend got the country fried steak and eggs which she said was cold and did not taste freshly cooked… our server did not come to the table after food was out for another 30 mins while we’re sitting not even eating or enjoying the food. When she did come over she was rolling her eyes at everything we asked/ asked for. We then asked for a manager. The manager came over and asked us what was the problem we let her know and she said she discount our bill … not once did we get a sorry for our experience our service or anything ! After discounting our bills the “manager” did not come back to talk to us and once again nor did she apologize for the experience. I am a server myself who also works in breakfast … I do NOT not tip my server however this day/server did not want to be there at work and it showed . When she brought our bills to us she did not say anything when we told her to have a great day she said nothing and walked away …it was not a pleasant experience nor did we feel welcomed to...
Read moreWent there on Thursday night as part of Restaurant Week. The staff was somewhat rude. We started to day something to the person who seated us, but she turned her back on us and walked away saying, "thank you, thank you, thank you." She was talking over us and did not care about our request. The waitress was good, until she asked us to keep our forks for dessert. Mine was all crusted up with the dinner I did not like at all, and I could not get it clean with a napkin. When I asked her to get me a clean one, she said she would right away, which apparently meant she could after she brought out the food for two different tables. By then everyone else at my table had finished, but I guess bringing the fork laid on a napkin on a plate was supposed to make it worth it. When we were leaving, the same woman who had seated us came into the bathroom and asked if I was okay. I am in a wheelchair, so I said yes, but I would need help with the main door to leave the bathroom. She had already left before I answered. I got no help.
As for the food, we calculated that the cost of the Rest Week menu was only about $2 less than if we ordered off the regular menu. But we were committed to supporting the charity. The crab rangoon was very good, although most of the wontons were broken into really small pieces, making it challenging to dip. The Woodbury nachos were okay. The wedge was fine. We had been informed that they were out of the prime rib dinner, and there were no substitutions. So crab cakes were ordered by some and some ordered bulgolgi. The crab cakes had an interesting taste, not in a good way. It seemed as if it was mostly fillers. The "roasted" potatoes were overdone and poorly seasoned. The asparagus was way overcooked, soggy and limp. The bulgolgi was marginal. Then came the desserts. None of them were particularly outstanding, but no complaints as to how they were prepared, although the strawberry blueberry cheesecake was named after the one strawberry and two blueberries placed on top.
This was not my usual restaurant week experience. Very disappointing. Perhaps they should have offered things from their breakfast menu. We will not be returning. Too bad, because we live about...
Read moreMy friend and I came on a Sunday afternoon because the reviews were fairly good. We made a reservation because we thought it would busy and it was fairly busy, but not full when we arrived.
We got seated and the staff members were all fairly nice. Our waitress seemed very rushed and inattentive the entire time we were there. From start to finish, we were there for almost 2 hours: 1 hour and 15mins waiting for our food to come out. A few other tables also waited a long time for their food. Our waitress "checked in" on us and it didn't seem like she was listening to us and would rush off. I'm not here who he was, but seemed like a higher up that offered us a strudel to snack on while we waited for our food. At the end of our meal, they did discount our bill.
I got the brisket biscuits and gravy and my friend got the country fried steak and eggs. Both dishes were fairly generous, but came out fairly cold. My dish came with hash browns, which were wet and not crispy. Although, I like that they mix quinoa or some sort of grain into it. The gravy on my biscuits was pretty good, not flavorful enough. The amount of brisket on top was not enough for the portion, but overall the dish was okay. I think the menu looked interesting, but I think a restaurant's ability to make good breakfast is what sets the bar for me. I would try something else, if I come back.
This place is street parking and it's fairly easy to find on Sundays (free). There's plenty of seating and space. They have free WiFi, a bar top, and a little mini cafe/coffee shop in the back.
The food was okay and the service was below average. The atmosphere and the decorations were very nice though. I enjoyed the environment! I would recommend this place if you're an adventurous eater because their offerings are really interesting and looked good. It's a nice place for a casual date, brunch, or small...
