4th & State — Restaurant in Columbus

If I can give 0 stars I would. This place is ran very unprofessionally. Chad and his parents are not hip to good customer service like their servers are. This place messed up my food and instead of being apologetic and kind about it, they acted very immaturely and I do not recommend spending money with them. I ordered a side dish for $7 & the manager was so mad about my friends inability to eat their spicy food that she tried to charge $11 for something that was $7 on the menu that we were all looking at.

When she realized that she was not going to get away with upcharging, her son came from behind the kitchen ( no hair tie, beard net or apron covering) & told us to leave. I had no problem leaving, I did not enjoy my food and I did not enjoy my service, but on my way out he made a very racist and disrespectful comment that I will never repeat, but I just thought everyone should know about the way that they treat their customers when they cannot get away with messing up your food and making you pay more for it.

Furthermore, my friend was absolutely thrown off by the way that management was being to her that it triggered her into a panic attack, our server was so lovely, but management was so aggressive and rude.

Management will respond and say otherwise, but I would really like for them to be honest on their part of messing up our food, trying to overcharge, and when being corrected told us to leave.

I would love for you to share that video with everybody so that we can see how you guys interact with your customers. I vote! Share it!! I am very disappointed in you guys. The fact that you came on this post and lied like that. You’re saying that we refuse to pay for our food, but my friend very much tried to pay for our food and tip our server and you were too busy telling us to get out how does that make sense? Like I said, I just want you guys to take ownership on the fact that you don’t know how to treat people, when you guys cannot get away with up charging something that we all can see the price of on the menu. & sexual comments to your server is crazy! I won’t blast my friends business because it’s not the worlds business to know, but she was expressing that she had a very difficult experience this week and just wanted to have a lovely service with few check ins, there’s nothing sexual about asking a server not to check in with you every five minutes, hence why our server was very lovely. Vegan approved!! I give this Vegan eatery 10 out of 10 stars, for sure!! I knew I was going to love this place as soon as I walked in. The ambiance was great, the service was impeccable, and the whole dining experience was wonderful. My husband and I explained to our waitress, Sophie, that we were celebrating our 20th Anniversary at 4th & State. Sophie surprised us at the end of our "date night dinner" with a Strawberry Cupcake! How sweet?! It was soft, fluffy, and moist. This fresh Strawberry Cupcake melted in my mouth! It was bursting with strawberry flavor. Strawberries are one of my all-time favorite fruits, and I love strawberry flavors in a moist and fluffy cupcake more than anything else. If you are planning to visit Columbus, Ohio, anytime soon, then please go check out 4th & State. 🍓

Gosh, there’s just something about a big pile of crispy seasoned fries smothered in queso, tempeh bacon, ranch drizzle, and diced tomatoes. Loaded fries are an absolute game-changer when it comes to satisfying my craving for something salty, crispy, and deeelicious. I’m not sure why, but I have always found potato dishes to be a source of comfort food to me. They're the best appetizers!! 💚

The Traditional Patty Melt was loaded with sautéed peppers and onions, American cheeze, and sriracha aioli on perfectly toasted Italian bread. Every bite was an explosion of flavor! There is something about a patty melt that is inherently comforting. It’s got that crispy, crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth magic. It's easily one of my favorite comfort meals! ✨️

The Chick'n Parm Sandwich was incredibly flavorful!! Fried tempeh chick'n, provolone, mozzarella, marinara, and basil on a garlic buttered bun. It was wonderfully tender and crispy. One of my favorite things as a kid growing up was a good chick'n parm. I give this delicious sandwich two thumbs up! 👍🏽👍🏽

Visited this place earlier this week after finding it while searching “Columbus Vegan Restaurants”. When I first arrived I noticed it was a clean place. The decor is pretty commercialized, to the point it is almost sterile. The dining area temperature was cold also. The server who greeted me was very friendly. They do provide good customer service.

When the food was brought out, there was a nice presentation to it. I tried their pizza which was really good. It is quite filling as well.

So you’re probably wondering why I gave them 3 Stars. If I had wrote this the night I was there, it would have been a 4 or 5 star review. However, I called for a pick up order on Saturday. I was told “we just closed 7 minutes ago”. That is when I found out that they close at 5 pm on Saturdays (and Sundays as well which I can understand). I am not understanding the reduced hours on a Saturday evening. Today I thought I would try again. I wanted to try a different pizza that was on their menu. When I called to place my pick up order, I was asked to hold on so they could check to see if they had any pizza. I was then informed they did not have pizza and they don’t serve it on weekends. So, that reduced them to a 3 Star review for having limited weekend hours and not offering items they have listed on the menu.

If anyone would like to try them, I assure you the food is good. But definitely call ahead to verify hours and if the items you want to try are actually being served on the given day...
