This place is absolutely disgusting and convinced me the chain is a money laundering scheme. I was at Ferry Landing for hours and the only employee, a young woman with black hair, literally turn her back and ignore every customer for 2 hours. She didnt even say hello.
She also didn't take any orders or clean. Customers were getting confused, standing, then would leave. Trash was piling up on the pastry display next to the check-out. DISGUSTING. Plus it was overly warm, no air, and the smells (TRASH + sugar) were not smelling good.
For an $18 croissant? You should be cursed out.
I was shocked and disgusted. But not completely because San Diego hospitality especially in tourist centers can be a TOTAL JOKE. I cannot take these businesses seriously.
I told my friends I met with how this fake bakery was ignoring customers and not accepting payment. We went inside. Exactly the same the cashier has her back faced to customers completely ignoring us did not even look at us or say hello There was NEW and different trash on the glass case with the food. More confused potential customers walked in and out.
Eventually a secret male employee came out of hiding from the back. Not to work. TO FLIRT with the other non-working employee. I could hear everything they were saying, it was very cringe. And yes, more confused almost customers left the store without ordering bc noone is serving them.
Whoever owns this place should be ashamed. Stop running a "hobby business" and let another business that is serious open shop at Ferry Landing.
And stop disrespecting people who wanted to try your wildly pretentious overpriced $18 LA aspirational croissant. Total waste of time and you are a detriment to Ferry Landing and Coronado. Cannot take this...
Read moreI hate to say it… but the teenage girl at the register was RACIST.
I came here with my mother after dinner to get a sweet treat before going back to our hotel. She was very friendly and provided great service to the woman in front of us, so we expected the same. However, when it was our turn to order, we didn’t receive the same friendly demeanor. It also took her a while to start preparing the items we ordered.
I didn’t think much of it until another family came behind us in line. However, she was immediately warm and friendly to them and began processing their order immediately. Even though we patiently waited in line longer than them. If it weren’t for the kind gentleman working with her telling her so and starting to check us out, we probably would’ve walked out and taken our business elsewhere.
The common denominator between the worker and the other people in line? They were all WHITE. I can’t believe I have to write a review detailing how I was racially discriminated against in 2024. This is not how you should do business, especially in a state like California and a place that receives many international tourists, such as Coronado.
This place has cute vibes and good food, but it all means nothing if POC can’t receive equal...
Read moreMy Contribution to your business was not valued. Although there are bigger problems to worry about in the world right now. This is how local small businesses treat their clients? We felt discriminated. Watch the video during our time there on 6/30/25 @ 2030. We were in line in front of the register but the cashier was too eager to help another group instead. “Sorry; pardon me; I will be with you shortly” is not in their vocabulary. The cashier had the opportunity to use her soft skills twice. All she said was, “I will help u next” in a very dismissive manner. Even after letting her know I was next. Second, when our order was not even delivered correctly. Instead of helping us solve the situation. Gave us more attitude. I tipped because I wasn’t trying to take any of it personal. It became personal when I could see right through her nasty persona. This review benefits you more as the owner if you really care about your customers because you can help fix the issue for future clients. If you don’t care either I hope it helps your next customer shop at their own discretion. I only decided to proceed with my purchase, because I wasn’t going to ruin my children’s plans...
