The manager, Sergio, has no idea about customer service. I was with a group of friends, we walked into the place to check out the desserts because we weren't sure if we wanted to eat there, one waiter said it was a 45 minute wait but another waiter said we could take the table outside, then the first waiter said we had to make a reservation in advance.

The manager, Sergio, came to me and told me that he was going to put me in WL for about 1 hour and if we were sure to return in 1 hour. The place was half empty, and I was told those available tables were reservations only, even though there was no one outside waiting the entire time we were waiting for our desserts to go. In fact, a group of 3 people without a reservation because they said they didn't have a reservation were seated after our arrival.

The manager said that customers without a reservation have to go out to the sign that says: Please wait to be seated. I asked the manager that he didn't tell me the first time I asked for a table, so I need to go out and go to the sign to be able to sit inside the place, with my group, who was inside waiting for a table? He said yes, in Spanish, because I talked to him in Spanish, initially you didn't understand my instructions; I needed to go out and wait at the sign outside, but there are 2 entrances. So I asked him again: Do I have to go outside now that we're all inside just so we can sit inside, even though you have enough tables available to offer us? He said YES, my friends were simply very disappointed and we left the place, we wanted to have a wonderful time but it was the complete opposite due to the lack of critera and customer service attention.

Sergio, you could even have said that our policy rules are very strict, I will do the exception because it's possible to make things work, It is even understandable that if the place was full, we would have understood it perfectly. You are doing your job, and we respect that, with all respect, your manners, and no criteria are not good for...

Tartine has pretty bad customer service. I went here to have some coffee and a quick bite by myself and when I asked for a table one of the waitresses asked "are you even going to order dinner?". I assumed this was because I was in casual wear and alone she though that I didn't deserve a table if I wasn't going to order dinner. This is a cafe, not some fine dinning establishment and I can order coffee and a croissant and still want to sit at a table.

I ended up having a hard time getting this staff member to assist me. She always left promptly and didn't seem to want to wait on me. There was also a reservation sign on the table with a name and time. I got there are 6:30 and the time was for 7:15. I wasn't planning on spending more that 30 minutes there. But her inability to assist me made it take much longer

I ordered quite a bit of coffee and ask for a small glass of sparkling water. She then said "oh we don't sell small sparking water like that, we sell the large bottle and I'm sure you don't want to spend the 5 dollars for it." I laughed and said oh it's fine. Now I understand that my response was vague, but I still wanted their five dollar sparking water. And she never gave it to me. I had to walk in after a completely different waiter helped me the rest of the night. And I order a sparkling water before I left, as this waitress seemed to completely ignore...

We arrived and no server seated or greeted us. A woman walked in after us and was immediately greeted and served. We were passed off to another counter person. Then told to seat ourselves, were not asked if we wanted anything to drink and then brought warm tap water. As we were waiting for our pastries, the counter person was discussing us with a customer saying we were being rude. We bought four pastries and they were not tasty. We ordered a key lime cheesecake, which was very tasty . We ordered a lemon curd tart that had no lemon flavor whatsoever and the crust tastes under baked . Vanilla bean cheesecake that did not taste like vanilla or a bean, it tastes like nothing . It had no flavor whatsoever. We ordered a chocolate mousse to go and hopefully things go well . When a server asked us about our order we told him and his response was 'bummer' and then he walked away. The table next to us was brought their check in a lovely silver container, whereas we had to go up to the counter to pay our bill. Clearly they did not want our business which is fine there are other fine pastries establishments to be found in Coronado. The customer service was downright unenthusiastic, non helpful and lacking any kind of care toward their customer or their service unless...

Don't miss this absolute GEM at the Harbor end of Coronado. It may seem a little off the beaten path, but you'll be so glad you came. I had the most delicious ham and grueyer quiche, with perfectly dressed salad and the double latte got my day going. As I was planning to walk down to the Del, and was afraid some of their amazing desserts would be gone by late afternoon, I asked if they would hold my (paid for) desserts until I returned. Thankfully, they agreed. The flourless chocolate coconut cake would have been gone when I got back. It was even more amazing than expected. I also got a lemon meringue tart, equally amazing! The lemon was perfectly tart with just enough sweet. I'm not fond of lemon that's overly sweet. The crust was flaky, the meringue was the perfect counterbalance to the lemon. I enjoyed the tart the first evening, and the chocolate cake over the next few nights as it is Soooo rich. Both were a little slice of heaven. Tartine is a slice of heaven!

We always leave Tartine’s amazed at how they prepare, pair and serve the food so perfectly! This week we had two dinners there - both, from beginning to end, superb. The spotted bass was prepared perfectly- with just the right amount of seasonings to compliment- not overpower. The pairing of seasonal vegetables was perfect - and the preparation was perfect -with hints of lemon and dill but not heavy at all! The chicken dish over risotto was delicious with the risotto not too thick or cream heavy. Green salads and beef barley soup along with the DELICIOUS bread made the meal complete. We too home a fabulous Tiramisu cheesecake. Both servers - Erin and our server last night - were wonderful. The owners always are present and are part of what makes Tartines run so smoothly!! Thank you!!! You serve amazing, healthy, delicious meals with grace!! ❤️🥰❤️👏😋

Had the White Chocolate Lemon Tarte. I eat a lot of desserts as they are my favorite thing to try at restaurants. This one was really terrible. Basically you’ve got the tarte shell, then a light layer of lemon custard, topped w a super think hard chunk of white chocolate (worst part), topped w whipped cream and a few raspberries. I figured the white chocolate would be incorporated nicely. Its like they took a huge chunk of hard waxy baking white chocolate and stuck in on top of the tarte shell like a sandwich. I still ate the tarte shell and whipped cream but regret it. Really not good. When has anyone ever wanted to eat a massive chunk of white chocolate? Disappointed.
