I Came Here To Celebrate My Buddy's Birthday. I Sat Down And The Waiter With The Ballad Haircut Helped Me. I Started With Water And A Vodka Cranberry And Asked For A Menu. He Returned With The Water & Vodka Cranberry, Yeah But No Menu. He Just Left And Didn't Come Back For Awhile. I Had To Ask Again Can I Please Get A Menu? He Said Ok I'll Get One. I Finally Got A Menu About 10 Mins Later. He Came Back After 20 Mins And Asked If I Was Ready & I Ordered A Burger & Fries. I Received My Food And Noticed Only one Tiny Little Cup Of Ketchup. I Also Noticed My Waiter Didn't Give Me Any Utensils Or Napkin. I Ate My Fries Because My Burger Was Going To Be Messy. I Didn't See My Waiter For 15 Mins And Finally Seen Him @ Another Table. I Waved For Him To Come & He Asked Yes Can I Help You? Oh Yes May I Have A Napkin Wrap Please. I Did Received The Wrap And Ate My Burger Dripping With Sauce. Oh Yeah Food Was Good.I Did Notice My Vodka Cranberry Tasted Like Diluted Cranberry Juice. Oh Yeah Never Asked If I Wanted Another Drink. I Did Hear The Waiter Asking My Cousin's & Other Friends Sister If They Wanted Their Checks? He Never Asked Me Because I Came Late And Was Not With My Other Friends Sister. He Assumed I Was With Her And Put Our Orders Together. We Split Are Tab & I Handed My Credit Card To The Waiter. I Asked Him To Put $36 On My Card Since He Didn't Split Our Check. He Yelled Out Loud Well How Am I Supposed To Know! I Calmly Said You Could Of Asked Me? I Really Don't Know What Other Restaurants Do This But This Is Very Rude! I'm Sorry Because I Use To Love This Place When It Was @ The Gas Lamp. I Just Can't Recommend This...

Been going here for years, more consistently recently to catch hockey games. Always great service and food, I’ve never had any complaints. Until just a few days ago… One of the female bartenders informed me there’s new management/ownership (I’m not sure exactly) and the menu was cut significantly. I went for Happy Hour, but they no longer offer it. The whole vibe in the place was off, with a bunch of new employees. My favorite foods were gone from the menu, just offering the basics that you can get pretty much anywhere. I decided to order a drink and an appetizer. The female bartenders didn’t seem to know what they were doing, either very new or just unsure of how to make drinks. I got the same drink twice, and they were made differently/tasted differently. (I also got charged for 3 drinks when I only ordered 2. They did fix my check after I said something) The man next to me waited almost 20 mins for his burger, and another 10 even after he was told they were working on it and would rush it. It got slightly busy and the staff seemed overwhelmed. At one point they were pulling pint glasses out of a new box and without sanitizing them, using them for drinks! The folks around me and I all agreed the service was off and slow and the food wasn’t as good as it used to be. I understand growing pains in the industry, so I’m hoping they make some improvements and bring back the old vibe and great food...

We went to this place on a recommendation from a local lady who said the burgers were great. Our first impression was not good. As soon as we walked up we got looked up and down and given not such a nice look by the TWO hostesses. Neither smiled or was welcoming at all. I believe the only thing that was said was, "For three? Follow me." They were rude and it made us want to leave but we decided to try it out because we heard the food was great. I did notice throughout our time sitting there that they seemed to be quite rude to some other people they sat as well. The cheeseburger was OK at best. I asked for it well done and it wasn't and by the time it got to our table (about 30-40 minutes after it was ordered) the bottom bun was soggy which really grosses me out. It wasn't anything fantastic. My sisters each got a salad- the Mandarin and Caesar Salads and they loved them. They both said they would order those again. Really the only reason I'm even giving this place the two stars is because our waitress Lindsay was really nice and was on top of our drink refills. I understand the wait time could be because it was Saturday at 2:00 but it still seemed like quite the wait for two salads and a cheeseburger. Overall, I wouldn't go back and I would never recommend it to anyone. I hope they give their hostesses some training in...

First time Nicky’s Rottens Bar & Burger Joint. Overall a good experience. The service can be better but didn’t take away from the experience. I have to say better than I expected when it comes to the food. The burger was meaty, somewhat juicy, and thick. The bread was also thick so hold the sauce and the toppings really well. The toppings were fresh especially the lettuce. I don’t know what they do with your lettuce but it was crisp. Every bite was like crisp, crisp . . . and more crisp. The fries were hot and fresh with crispiness and thickness them. The tater tots were also delicious and they do give so many of them; Nicky, you are so generous. Nicky will definitely will hit the spot for you so come hungry. Also, if you’re up for a challenge, try their 2 1/2 lb burger challenge. Finish everything in 30 minutes and it’s free. FYI parking can be a pain so prepare to walk a distance. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.

OMG this spot, is the go to spot for a good time, good music, good drinks. The vibe is really chill, lots of tv's surrounding the restaurant. The staff is very attentive, and quuck on there feet to serve. The food is to die for, I go here either every Friday or Saturday. Its never a dead a moment here. The general type of audience that gathers here is military, being that this establishment is in a military environment, just down the street from NORTH Island, and over the bridge from Naval base San Diego. Come here with the kids, come with the family, come with friends. He/she will not be disapointed. In my pictures provided there is a 5 and half pound burger challenge, half hour to get it for free, an hour to have your name placed on the board. I failed but that damn burger was hella good. I will do the challenge again thats for sure!!!! LoL

I have a theory that the new ownership is going to wait out all the review bombing of the restaurant because no place on the island is going to go out of business. Eventually, people will forget how amazing this place used to be and accept the massive downgrade and it will become the norm. Service was great and staff was friendly. Food was horribly overpriced, underwhelming and was 1/10th the quality it used to be. 2 cups of water and a plate of nachos was $28. The nachos used to be cheaper, and I will attach photos to compare new and old. (Note that yes we ate some of the nachos before taking the picture) The downgrade to the nachos happened to every single food item I saw in the restaurant. Just a huge bummer honestly. No need to come here, it's going to become a typical tourist trap now.
