On one of my first trips to San Diego, I took a shore excursion that led us over to the Hotel Coronado (where many movie stars have stayed) and then onwards to the historic Coronado Ferry Landing, which is now a park/viewpoint. From there I could see the nearby naval station and the aircraft carrier currently in harbor and had great views of the San Diego skyline with its unique appearance). Gorgeous viewpoint, not super busy during the week and accesible parking — the best!

I made a visit about midweek and was surprised at how little people were there. Guys, don’t let the cloudy weather stop you from coming out! Unless the fog is rolling in, you’re still going to be able to see the beautiful city skyline and the way the sun bounces off the clouds and reflects down on the buildings is definitely something you gotta see for yourself.
