Comfortable and peaceful -- my mom and I visited for a basic mani/pedi, and really liked sitting on a comfortable antique sofa, soaking our feet in large copper basins.
The nail stylists (is that the proper reference?) were friendly and welcoming. It seemed that all the other patrons were regular customers. My mom and I were visiting from out of town and were referred by a friend.
It was the luck of the draw that my stylist was experienced at both the body mechanics of enjoyable foot and leg message, along with tending well to the proper care of callouses, cuticles, nail beds, and the cosmetic aspects of painting nails. Several days later, and I still like the way my hands and feet look and feel.
My mom, however, wasn't as lucky, and it seems her stylist was fairly inexperienced. The foot and leg massage was tentative, and the actual application of polish was uneven and not really up to par.
That said, we both left the salon feeling relaxed and cared for. I will return, should I be in the area again.
EDIT TO ADD: The owner/manager called and kindly offered my mom another manicure, though we weren't able to follow through to schedule. I greatly appreciate the gesture, and that confirms that I will return when I'm back in...
Read moreUpdate: Lynne, the owner, reached out and worked to turn my experience around! Updating my review to add stars because my experience was not the norm for this salon. Thank you Lynne. Initial review: I had good experience with pedicure here so booked an eyebrow shaping and tinting which seemed to be completed in a relatively private part of the salon - on a table behind a screen. I was early for my appointment- it was busier than I had seen before. The technician pulled a chair to the center of the shop, right behind women getting their nails done and in front of another client getting eyelash extensions. She seemed unsure of herself and explained she hadn’t been doing this service long when I asked. I asked for taupe or light brown. She completed the $50 service in about 15 minutes. The color was dark brown and her shaping created eyebrows that are completely different - one much lower and thinner than the other. I’ve tried to wash the color out multiple times - starting right when I got home. This is not a service this salon...
Read moreWhen you walk in, you notice the smell of the nail salon. The smell is very relaxing, smells of aromatherapy; not your typical strong acetone or nail polish type of salon, which I loved.
Next, is the way we were greeted and acknowledged right away and given drinks and the warm neck pillow was AMAZING! The smell from the warm neck pillow felt and smelled great. Even towards the end of the day, I could still smell the scent of the warm neck pillow on my shirt.
Also, the champagne was delicious, perfect temperature and super bubbly!
Towards the end I finally got to see my toe nails and they were so LOVELY! I loved how Sherry really took her time and asked me if I was okay, the temperature was good.
Oh...but the best part is, the pedicure did NOT HURT. Like most nail salons I have gone to have hurt my toe nails and dug in too deep, but not Sherry. Sherry did an AMAZING job with my pedicure and it was overall a very relaxing experience that I plan to go back to with my...
