Walked in yesterday stood around for 10 minutes with my family the youngest being 24. Didn’t get noticed at all. Decided to give it another go today. Walked in with my pregnant wife, my sister and her husband right behind us as they finished ordering pizza from secret stash. (Must try by the way). Was asked for my Id which is fine since I am the one drinking. All of us who are actually drinking brought our ID. Since my wife has no plan on drinking she left her Id in her purse at home. They then proceeded to say she couldn’t even be in the bar at all since she didn’t have her id. After that I was asked if I would still like the drink... let me think no I dont want that drink since my pregnant wife is now standing out in the snow.
Will never return no matter how good your drinks are. You’re rules are useless.. yeah 21 and up to keep minors out yet you are kicking someone out well over that age. Your loss since I frequently visit family in crested butte.
Plenty of great places in the town of crested butte to get a drink and some grub. Go somewhere else save your time and money and put it to a business that actually cares about its...
Read moreAs a born-and-raised Crested Butte local, I've given The Dogwood numerous opportunities over the years, visiting with both family and friends from out of town; however each visit has been marked by consistently rude service and an unwelcome attitude. It's disheartening to repeatedly feel like an unwelcome guest in my own hometown. Having worked in the local service industry my whole life, I understand how tough the job can be, and I truly hoped my earlier poor experiences were just flukes. However, the negative service has been too consistent to ignore, and I genuinely get the sense that customers aren’t valued or wanted here. For a place that prides itself on offering a high-end experience; from drinks to decor, you’d be better off grabbing a to-go margarita from Teocalli, where you’ll at least be greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. I sincerely hope that one day the service at The Dogwood matches the warmth and charm that define Crested...
Read moreThe Dogwood was by far the highlight of our recent trip to Crested Butte. This place is just fantastic. From the drinks, to the staff, to the atmosphere, I cannot say enough good things about The Dogwood. The Beetnick Martini was out-of-this world and the Yellow Rose (while I agree being rosemary forward) was delicious and I can't wait to have another. The folks running this place know their stuff and they know how to make a great drink so don't be afraid to try something new. Some drinks take some time to make, but it’s worth the wait. We loved the warm, comfortable, neighborhood feel of the place. And if you should happen to visit The Dogwood when they have their "balsamic, thyme and garlic pickled eggs” get some!!! They were beyond delicious!!! If you go to Crested Butte, go do...
