The experiences I had at this restaurant were the highlight of my time in Dallas, and may be the most positive I’ve had at any restaurant. The staff are friendly, passionate and attentive, and went above and beyond to showcase their amazing food for a couple of tourists in need of some Texas barbecue. In my first visit I tried the baked potato with turkey, which was delicious and filling, came out super quickly and had me leaving full and happy. We were surprised and delighted when we were offered to try some of the brisket and beef sausage as well, and after having a taste knew we would have to come back for more. The sides of potato salad, baked beans, jalapeño poppers and mac and cheese were each unique from any other I’ve had, and it is clear that every item on the menu has had a lot of thought and love put into making it the best possible. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is able to spend some time in central Dallas, the food, service and atmosphere were each top notch and created a really wonderful and...
Read moreIf you're in Dallas and looking for AMAZING BBQ, look no further. I highly recommend BBQ DNA! We were greeted by friendly, smiling faces who explained the menu options and offered up samples to try.
The food itself was the best that southern BBQ has to offer. I shared a fully loaded baked potato with pulled turkey (yes turkey, I'll get back this one) and smoked beef sausage and an order of sliced brisket on a bun. The pulled turkey blew me away! I would have sworn I was eating the best pulled pork I'd ever had and the smoked sausage was incredible. There were plenty of jalapenos and sour cream on the side for the potato as well. The brisket was juicy, tender and perfectly flavoured!
All the while the staff were attentive, friendly, and very hospitable. They bent over backwards to make sure we were happy customers and enjoying our meal.
This family obviously loves what they do and they love their customers! It shows in the hospitality and quality of the meal. ...
Read moreI really wanted to like DNA BBQ since it was our first time trying them and I love supporting Black-owned businesses, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. I ordered a baked potato with two meats, and everything was dry — the potato, the meats, all of it. The chopped brisket had no moisture, and the chicken didn’t taste fresh; it came across like pre-packaged chicken. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich and the bread was the “end pieces,” plus they barely put any sauce on it. The young man working seemed overwhelmed and unorganized, and the food didn’t appear freshly cooked — we didn’t smell a grill or smoker, and it looked like everything was being kept warm in hot pots. For the price we paid ($36), the quality just wasn’t there. We left unsatisfied and won’t be returning. I hate feeling like I wasted money, especially when I’m trying to support a business in...
