I do not know how I have never been here before but I know for sure I will return. Let's just start with Gregory (tall slender man with blue hair), I am not sure what you are getting paid, but someone give him a raise immediately. Don't get me wrong, our server Cynthia (I think is her name), was also great and attentive, all the positive adjectives, but Gregory was working the room. Even the host that sat us had great service. Amazing across the board! I came with a group of 3 for Saturday brunch (without a reservation) and we were seated immediately. I love the vibe here! All the employees were different sizes, shapes, colors, it's very diverse and it made me feel included as a patron. We started off with a mimosa carafe ($20) with strawberry and peach flavoring (extra $2). We did get extra fruit puree since my mom wanted a sweeter drink, but she loved the brunch punch ($12). I am normally great on taking pictures of my food, but the crab cake Benedict ($15) smelled so good, I had to take a bite. Literally everything was delicious. I even ate my aunt's shrimp and grits ($16). I left here full but not feeling bloated and stuffed. We got 4 entrees, a mimosa carafe and a cocktail and spent right at $100 before tip. My only criticism has nothing to do with the food or service but the floor layout. We sat against the wall in the half booth, half chair table and I kept getting hit in the back of my head. I might be a little thick, but my chair was not too far from the table. The booths and tables are so close together, if you are on the thicker side, either sit on the booth side or just get a booth. I had to tell my server since it was 4 times I was bumped into. This is not to get anyone a finger wagging, this is just for my fellow people with hips and dips to be aware of. I think I like here better than yolk, so I might have found my new brunch spot. 10 star experience.

I'm always wary of celebrity strewn walls in an establishment. I find the bigger the publicity the lower the quality of food compared to the restaurant's hey day pre-fame. I must say Dream Cafe lives up to the hype. They keep a neat little list with everyone from Stevie Ray Vaughan to Bono to Kelly Clarkson previously grabbing their tables. This culinarily judgmental New Yorker was pleasantly surprised by the pillowy soft flavorful Hippie blueberry pancake. I was delighted by the crisp buttery biscuit with a soft fluffy interior topped with delicious scrambled eggs , diced sausage, with a healthy dollop of gravy and Cholula hot sauce. It was good to the last bite and even though their style of hash (non crispy and shredded potato) is my least favorite variety, it was hard not to polish off the plate with a dosing of that gravy and hot sauce. After a slight misstep (the first set of hippie pancakes were raw at the center with uncooked batter visible once I reached it) the second set of pancakes were perfectly done and even more delicious than my initial bites of the first. Up beat music from flossing gently from the speakers spanning the past five decades, with a perfect amount of sunshine, and the gentle rumbling of the McKinney Street car were the perfect backdrop to a great meal. The price was right too–my entire meal came in at $24 including tax (not tip).

Dream Cafe is an adorable spot with an expansive patio area that caught my eye. We had the pleasure of sampling both the Country Benedict and the Farmers Omlette. The Omlette was a delightful surprise, accompanied by a side of toast and fresh fruits that complemented it perfectly. Meanwhile, the Benedict arrived with a side of hash browns and a poached egg that added a delightful touch, although I found the fried chicken could use a bit more seasoning to truly hit the spot for my palate. The energizer juice was an absolute treat, offering a rejuvenating and revitalizing experience. Their array of juices and shakes is impressive, and the option to boost your shake with added protein is a fantastic touch. One aspect that stood out to me was the attentive and courteous staff, who went the extra mile to ensure a memorable dining experience. In terms of parking, it's worth noting that validating your ticket is a breeze if you choose to park in the underground garage. A helpful tip for fellow diners: there are two garages, but only one offers ticket validation. To sum it up, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Dream Cafe. Would visit again!!

Okay where do I start with this location? Let me tell you a little story. My boyfriend and I chose to eat brunch here about a month ago due to it being so close to Theatre 3. I am a critic and was seeing the show Dracula. We got there about 45 minutes before we needed to be at Will Call to pick up our tickets. We knew it may be too bothersome to get our food out that quickly so we asked the two hosts at the front if it was possible and they said "Absolutely!" We were seated immediately so we thought that was a good sign. It wasn't terribly busy due to some empty tables. Our waiter came to our section and we told him the food needed to be rush and he said it was no problem. And that is where the troubles began. We ordered two waters, an orange juice, and a smoothie to start and then my boyfriend ordered an omelette and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. We ordered it all at once so we didn't take too much time. 15 minutes passed and we still didn't receive our drinks. Then 20 minutes. We kept seeing our waiter go in and out of the alley, look at us and then go back in. It felt like he was avoiding us. Finally we asked the hostess if we could have our drinks. She came back and told us he had been out back changing the ice in the machine the whole time. But that's not true we had seen him go in and out of the kitchen at least five times. We were patient and finally got our drinks 15 minutes before we had to go. The waiter never came back to our table. 5 minutes before we had to leave my boyfriend had to get up and FIND our waiter to check out. We left hungry and upset. The waiter never apologized either for the fact that we didn't get our food. I sat through a two hour performance starving and shaking. I'm hypoglycemic and my blood sugar was very low. By the time I ate at 5:00 I was full on trembling. Thank god I at least had the orange juice. I have worked in food service for five years. I was always able to rush my food for my patrons who had to get to events quickly. I have never had a patron walk out without being fed. I've worked at two different establishments too. If that ever DID happen I would be apologizing at the very least. I am appalled by the service my boyfriend and I received. The Lakewood location has by far better service and staff. I truly could not warn you enough to not go to this location. There are better establishments close by that will...

As a general rule, I only write positive reviews, but I'm just so frustrated and confused about this place. I don't understand how it has such great reviews. I WANT to love it, but the service is so hit-or-miss, sometimes fine (rarely great) and sometimes terrible. There's a hostess station when you walk in, but there's almost never anybody there to seat you; In fact, I've never once been greeted by a host. You do that whole mental dance of "Do I just hang here and wait? Do I go look for somebody? Do I seat myself?" Today, after I finally got a seat in the basically empty restaurant (which begs the question, what is the staff doing that keeps them from greeting people when they walk in the door?) I ordered a goat cheese scramble, which the waiter said was his favorite, and ultimately received something different. I ate it and didn't complain because all the food is pretty good here and I didn't want to embarrass the waiter, but after he cleared my plate, that was the last I heard of him. He had slapped the bill on my table before I even got my food, so I guess he felt like his job was done? Anyway, I did some work on my laptop for awhile and then wanted to order something sweet, maybe try a cinnamon roll. My waiter had long since disappeared and a host kept walking past me and almost willfully ignoring me. It was bizarre. But I finally flagged him down and ordered a cinnamon roll that never came. In the next hour, he kept walking by me, again completely ignoring me, even after I had put my credit card down to pay the bill. I was done with my work and about to get up and find someone to pay when finally-- an hour and 40 minutes after he last checked on me-- my original waiter came back and said "Oh hey. Sorry, forgot all about you." After an hour and 40 minutes! In a pretty slow restaurant! You had one job, dude! Anyway, I keep giving them a shot, but I think I'm actually done this time. The food is good, but not good enough to spend so much of one's visit strategizing how to politely get the...

We were looking for places to eat brunch after watching Stockyards near Fort Worth. We were hungry, but all places had a minimum of three hours wait. We called this place that we found on Google, and there was little to no wait. After driving for about half an hour, we made it. The atmosphere here is incredible. Everyone seems so happy, and the aesthetics make you feel comfortable. You are greeted kindly and escorted to your table. If you aren't sure what to get, the server will help you and give their honest opinion on what to get, and throughout the whole time we were checked on to make sure everything was fine. We got shrimp and grits, cloud cakes, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict with hashbrowns and an omelette. The hashbrowns we're perfectly cooked (which is difficult to perfectly cook hashbrowns) and so we're the eggs. Everything was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The omelette was nice. The chicken and waffles were actually really good, because the chicken was incredibly tender and there was delicious scallion sauce that went really well with it. The cloud cakes weren't bad, but I don't personally like pancakes so I am not to judge. On the other hand, the shrimp and grits were incredible. The amount of flavor from the shrimp and the mushroom and onions went well together. The grits were nicely textured and I can easily say these are the best grits I've had. (I got mine without bell peppers though because I don't personally like them.) Everything was really good. I couldn't be happier with this experience, and if there was one in New York (where I live) I would go there very often. I can recommend this place to anyone because of how good the food was, and in the end the price was really good for what we got. I felt amazing after eating this food (unlike other places where you feel heavy and tired) and I really would come back if I lived here. Phenomenal job...
