Terrible customer experience. As a certified Six Sigma Quality Assurance Analyst , my overall rating and experience is a certain fail.
Flaw in the checkout-out process:
Check-out: 15 min Order fulfillment: 15 min
Overall total wait time: 30 min
Waited in line nearly 30 min for a single scoop, 0 toppings. The process shouldn’t be time consuming for a simple request. When you compare procedures from other ice cream parlors, (such as Sweet Action, Denver, Colorado) customer pays and receive the product immediately after paying.
Do not make the consumer wait an extra 15 min especially for a simple order (which took approximately 20 seconds to scoop and serve) that does not contain any toppings.
Vegan burden tax experience:
Dairy (Cow bodily pus fluids) scoop: $5 Vegan (cashew based) scoop: $7
The vegan selection is an absolute disaster, not only does the business offer 2 options available, there’s an inconvenient extra $2 vegan tax for supporting sustainable choices. When I asked the manager Troy why do vegans have to bear the burden of paying the “vegan tax”
He reiterated by stating that due to the fact that the ice cream is not made in-house there’s extra costs associated with cashew based. The rebuttal he used was worded poorly. Instead of taking my feedback into consideration he justified his view by using “But” in his statements. Do not argue with the consumer - It makes me feel invalidated when the manager is defending operational procedures and not acknowledging my experience. The only way continuous improvements can take place is by taking consumer feedback seriously.
Improvement Suggestions: Fulfil simple orders as soon as they are placed (in order to respect consumers time.
Instead of making Vegans bear the burden Vegan tax make the prices fair and uniformed across the board. Example cost distribution by adjusting prices:
Dairy scoop: $6 Vegan scoop: $6
In this manner Vegans don’t have to feel the heavy burden of selecting sustainable choice for the planet. It also encourages other people to try the plant based products. It’s a win / win situation for the planet and for health, wellness.
Hire and train respectful management leadership whom take the consumer seriously. As I said the manager Troy made me feel uncomfortable when all he could do was defend his position and not acknowledge my response as a human being. There was a serious lack of empathy and customer service experience on his behalf.
Overall analysis: Save yourself the hassle and go to Sprouts or Whole Food instead. Not only will you be saving money by spending $7 but you’ll also be saving huge chunk of time as well. Your demeanor and attitude is more...
Read moreMy family and I are embarking on a little summer ice cream tour around the metroplex. On Saturday, we tried Dolly Llama after seeing all the fun images on IG from the original stores in Cali. I was so excited to see one opening here! We ordered two regular cones and then three bubbles. Sadly, they were having great difficulty with the waffle maker burning the waffles because they were getting stuck, so we were offered the liege (sp?), instead. This offer was made after we ordered. The liege is not a freshly made waffle—it was refrigerated and then warmed on a griddle. Not spectacular. I was sad that we didn’t get to try what we drove so far to get. I would say the biggest disappointment was the wait. It took 1 hour and 5 minutes to get our order. They weren’t overly busy (short wait to order and no lines out the door), but they are very understaffed. I know that is beyond their control given the challenges businesses are facing with hiring. We will try it again after they hopefully work out all of the kinks. It has great promise, but didn’t live up to our excited expectations this time around.
Side note: at one point, one of the workers was trying to fix one of the Blue Bell ice cream barrels and he physically had most of his upper torso (and, by extension, his entire head) inside the cooler/ice cream case with no net on his hair. I felt it looked very gross to infiltrate the cooler/ice cream case so much and to not have any hair protection over all the ice cream. I recommend wearing hair nets if positioning the ice cream barrels requires one to enter so far inside the...
Read moreThe Dolly Llama takes ice cream above to atmospheric levels! If you love, even like, ice cream, do your heart & stomach a favor and go to the Dolly Llama. Your heart & stomach won't regret it (maybe your kidneys will)! They are truly masters of their craft in the art of ice cream design. Only geniuses could think of combining smooth ice cream, a waffle, Biscoff cookies and the all the fixings to create a ration of scrumptious delight! I recommend everyone and their Mama (yes 🫵 Mama) to come and try what will one day be known as some of the best ice cream to try in the DFW! My girlfriend and I had it after dinner and after much anticipation from it's wonderful presentation, we inhaled it (below are some of my GF's thoughts). Will definitely come again!
"My boyfriend and I shared the horchata icecream waffle dessert and it was fantastic! On top of a hot liege waffle was a huge scoop of cinnamon ice cream with Biscoff cookies on top. We also added Reese’s cups and Oreo crumbs because why not right? It was so good that we cleaned the plate in under 5 minutes I kid you not. I would 10/10 order...
