I just walked in at 11:40 AM on a Saturday. Absolutely no one in the place. Guy behind the counter was fiddling around with whatever minuscule duty he had been assigned. I said hello, he looked my way, ignored me, and continued his fiddling around. Thought okay, I'll give him a second. After a minute, some lady comes from the back with a tray of glazed donuts and also didn’t acknowledge me. Talk about rude and useless staff. They should fire the counter guy with the curly hair. He is as useless as they come in regard to customer service.
Ive bought purchased donuts from here a handful of times. Frankly, they’re nothing to write home about. Dry and overpriced is the best way to describe them; however, I guess they‘re edible if you’re in a pinch and craving a donut. Keep your expectations low.
Today, I just happened to be walking by so I thought why not grab a donut. Anyway, I turned around and walked out after being completely ignored. I'd be surprised if they even knew I left due to that reason because customers apparently are not important enough to acknowledge, let alone speak to. Skip this place and find a better quality donut in the area, of which there are many. You'll thank me.
Side note…I believe this business is selling day old donuts and pretending...
Read moreI decided to stop at Urban Donut because it was the closet donut shop to my job. I really regret not going elsewhere. The staff was nice, the place looked clean but they are seriously overpriced. I had a regular kolache which was good, they are larger than the standard size. The sausage link was the size of a hotdog but I've had the same at other donut shops and it didnt cost me $4. The croissant was great but take napkins because they are very flaky. Their donuts are mediocre at best, which really was a surprise. I got a regular chocolate donut and it was $2, the dough was bland and floury and the chocolate icing tasted burnt and left a bad after taste in my mouth. I also had an orange juice, and even that tasted like it was near expiration. In total I spent $8.30, and left no tip because, seriously I felt robbed already. I understand that the market allows for them to have higher prices in this area but come on! I could have gotten way more at other donut shops for that price. If you're going to charge that much you better be damn sure the quality exceeds that of the mom & pop shops on the other side of the highway where I will be taking my business...
Read more8/10 times this place is phenomenal with amazing people. The other 2 times....I feel like a burden. On Friday night, we go in to get some dessert and these people are the worst in customer service. My fiancé went in to order 7 donuts for her bridesmaids and she just stood there for 3 mins without any contact. Then they asked her if she could pay....who asks that?!? The guy and girl work there Friday nights should be informed of their poor service. Other that, we love this place and visit often....I mean we live right above the store.
Update!!! Never trust their posted hours. Went down there 30 min before they were supposed to close and the lights were off and no one was in sight. This hasn't been the first time either
Update number 2 Went at 930pm on Saturday. They close at 11. They only had 1 long John and 2 yeast and 2 red velvet for the build your own. They only had 1/4 of the premade case full. No more were being made for the next hour and half. Just sad. And my wife's donut had no filling in it after the worker spent 10 mins looking like she was injecting it. Nothing got in the donut. 3strikes you're out....
