Whit's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in DeLand

This three stars isnt for the store as a whole, but for this specific product. I love Whits but i wanted to let yall know so in the future this product can improve. The Dubai Chocolate sundae misses the mark, but has the potential to be great. The kanaef/kaitefi being on top was not a good idea, too rough and sharp to be on top. It’d be better on the bottom so the custard can soften it. I feel like your pistachio creme doesnt match your chocolate custard. The creme is too sour— needs more of a savory taste. Honestly those are the two main issues that need to be fixed. I would also reccomend instead of this being a sundae, making it a milkshake or a whittie. I feel like the flavors could be more evenly distributed in a milkshake or whittie form (milkshake is the best option). I really do think this could be good, but right now I did not think it was the $9 (which included tip and tax) I payed. I came in with a group of 10 people 10 minutes before close. Let me start this by saying I know that’s it’s annoying. I understand as someone that works in the service industry that’s we all want to go home as quick as possible. However, we came in and ordered $80 worth product and tipped them $40 which is beyond kind considering it’s an ice cream shop. One of the employees was overly sarcastic and obviously expressing his annoyance that we came in so late. It was extremely disrespectful and made all of us feel uncomfortable. We are all regulars that come in at least 3-4 times a week. Wit’s Frozen Custard is the real deal!

Hands down one of the best frozen treats in DeLand — creamy, rich, and absolutely worth every bite. The flavor selection is awesome, and they always have something fun on the menu (the flavor of the day is a must-try!). Staff is super friendly and patient, even when we take forever to decide between all the mix-in options.

We stopped in for a quick dessert and ended up wishing we had bigger stomachs. The custard is that good — smooth, not too sweet, and full of flavor. Bonus points for clean seating, quick service, and that small-town charm that makes you feel welcome.
