Prior to Hugo's, you had basically two choices for beer/wine/liquor in Cap Hill: Skyline, which is a cramped store with a relatively minimal selection, especially for home-grown fare. Argonaut, which is basically the walmart of booze. Always overcrowded, ridiculously overpriced, and you get hassled by the regular 10-15 panhandlers in the parking lot.

The owner was super helpful and incredibly friendly, taking probably 10 mins to talk with me about the local stuff. They have a very wide and extensive list of styles and different companies. Are they collector edition bottles 😂 and the whiskey is… same story for the most part and as for the whole shop, you’re going to be unpleasantly surprised if you’re iso anything that’s not local to Colorado by in large.
