Our experience here was awful. There were so many consecutive issues; guess that’s what you get when the gratuity is included. The fish dinner that was given to my husband was fried even though he ordered it grilled, but he started eating it anyway at first because he was going to be nice. Not long into it, he decided he wanted what he ordered, so he called her back, and then found out it was actually one of the other people in our group’s grouper meals (not even the right fish he ordered). She then gave it to the right person (didn’t even give her a new meal even though my husband had been eating on it already), and then he waited too long to get his real meal (everyone else had basically finished eating by the time he received his), and then it wasn’t cooked all the way. The waitress we had was also argumentative. When my father-in-law stood up for his two other children to let her know that she had skipped ordering their food altogether, she argued with him that she had until she looked back and realized she had not put in their orders (and everyone else’s food had started coming out at this point). I didn’t get a refill on my glass of water during the entire meal. At the end of the meal, the waitress lost one of the people in our group’s credit cards, mixed up the receipts so everyone got the wrong charge in their bank accounts, and it got so messed up at one point that the manager had to come and finish figuring it out. At the end of the meal, even though my husband ordered the fish-of-the-day meal and the waitress messed it up so horrendously, she charged him with the grouper meal (the more expensive meal) and didn’t even give him a discount even though she messed it up and he had to wait forever. The waitress did not even apologize for how she handled our group, she walked away from our table at the end with a measly “Sorry about … anything,” and the not taking responsibility for her actions was one of the most frustrating parts. All in all, don’t go to this restaurant if you have more than 7 people in your group EVEN IF YOU’RE GOING TO SPLIT CHECKS. 18% gratuity is automatically included PLUS a 3% charge on all cards if you don’t use cash. We were extremely disappointed with our experience and do not expect ever returning and would not recommend this...
Read moreSo don't be fooled like I was by looking at their hours... It's a straight up bar after 10pm where you can only be 21 & over... We were visiting from far away & looking for a place to eat while having the kids with us that was open late since we had stayed on the beach until sunset... We wanted good seafood... Went there & were sat & ordered food only to literally be rudely rushed through our meals and drinks and be told we could not add anything to our order & was brought out dessert in a to go container with no utensils... I was told to pour my mixed drink in a styrofoam cup & take it with me along with another person in our group who had a beer... It was also my birthday... I found it very rude & we definitely would not have been treated that way in North Carolina... One of our kids wanted to play a game of pool before we left but because he wasn't 21 we were rudely rushed and kicked to the curb... They were literally turning the lights out on us! In all my 30 years in the service industry I have never seen such a thing! Where I come from you would be fired for treating your customers that way! If we would have known they were going to treat us that way we would have never sat down and ordered food to eat there & we would have gone somewhere else... They had a delicious looking menu with lots of seafood and their online hours were deceiving and we were lured in only to be sadly disappointed... Don't be fooled like we were! & Also in a beach town tourist destination area where the sun doesn't go down in the summer until almost 9:00pm why would there not be more options for family friendly later in the evening dining? Why should families with children be discriminated against? We come there and spend our money just like the late night party bar crowd... Next time they should make sure their servers explain better the situation before sitting a large family group and allowing them to order then literally rushing them rudely out the door... Not everyone is from there with rude intentions to come in at the last minute to keep the servers late past their shift... A little more information would have been...
Read moreWent here with my two best friends. When we arrived they told us that it would be a 20 minute wait and that we could sit at the bar for drinks or the patio. We sat at the bar and had a beer, (the bartender was short with us but I assume she was just busy. They seemed understaffed) waited about 45 minutes before trying to find the girl who told us to wait. Couldn’t find her but then a few minutes later she came to us and sat us. Initially they tried to sit us (3) at a giant table, it could have sat 15 people. We asked if there was anything smaller as we wanted to be able to share appetizers and talk without yelling. Lol. She moved us to another booth which was perfect. 3 different servers came to take our order. Drinks first by one server, apps by another, and then food by another one. None introduces their selves to us but just asked for our order. They were friendly though. I got the app Cajun butter shrimp (1lb), it was really tasty but was a bit on the watery side. I assumed it would be buttery enough to clog some arteries since it was “Cajun butter shrimp”. Overall they were 7/10. My entree was the fried seafood platter, the batter was very good and flavorful, the actual seafood itself was mediocre for the price ($35). Friend 1 got the garlic parm oysters, 9/10. They were very flavorful! Her entree was “the dinghy”, at market price ($53) she got two sets of small crab legs and some peel & eat shrimp. I did not try her food but she said it was okay. Not really worth the price 4/10. Friend 2 got the Alfredo pasta with grouper. I tasted the pasta and it was really good. She said the grouper was cooked nicely with good seasonings 7/10. The sweet tea was not very good, lacked sweetness but maybe that’s the Georgian in me. Overall...
