I love Panera Bread stores. I've been coming to this one for a number of years. The staff is very friendly: Jillian (the general manager with her warm smile and greeting); Dan (manager who goes from table to table, checking on the customers, and has a remarkable memory for names); Thomas (shift supervisor who is very polite); Cassandra (at the front counter who is extremely courteous as she takes all the varied food orders) and Merland (who always makes sure the whole store looks tidy, nothing escapes her broom and scoop). I'm not kidding when I say that this store has become like an extension of my living room. It was particularly helpful to me during the first year of the Covid pandemic (at that time Eric was the manager). I had to come here once a day to escape my home and keep my sanity. I've spent a lot of hours here with my laptop. Being that the store is in the Gateway Center, there's always plenty of parking available. This is a gem of a place. I just want to add something since I first wrote this review. On July 11, 2023, I forgot my laptop's mouse pad in the store. I realized this after I got home. The store was already closed. But I knew that the staff was probably still inside, cleaning up. I called and Larry, the manager, answered the phone. He was very nice. He went to the table where I had been sitting and found the pad. He told me he would save it in the office. I was able to get it the next day. The point is I know how, after a long day, everyone just wants to go home. I was a bit reluctant to call, to be honest. Anyway, I was very grateful when Larry answered the phone and was very nice about the whole thing. I do not take something like that...
Read morePanera, specifically this location in Everett at the Gateway Center was always my go-to until they did the renovation recently. Since the renovation it feels very impersonal now. The food has always not only been cut down in portion size but the quality is not the same. 2 days in a row last week I went at the same time and got the same thing both times. The first time my Goddess Avacado Salad was crisp and fresh per usual, although way smaller portion but the second day the lettuce was wilted mostly and brown. They overloaded the dressing that day to the point it tasted bitter. Also their service is not consistent with the staff either. I am allergic to onions and I told them no onions, the girl even repeated back to me and it said it on my receipt. Plus she told the woman making my salad not to add onions, yet it came with onions and when I had to send it back to be redone I got an attitude from the staff. Not to mention I waited in line foralmost 20 mins a few weeks ago, i was next in line, the server knew i was next in line and he looked at me directly in the eyes then turned and told the couple standing behind me to step up and order. Even that couple looked at me like huh shes next. I did speak up and say I was next and how I was waiting and stuff. He told me I looked like I already ordered. Huh what does that mean I loved like I ordered already?! If I ordered then why was I not holding food or standing directly in front of him and the cash register with a line of people behind me. I'm not sure if I will go to this...
Read moreTerrible experience! Very tricky menu board and very rude manager . We had never been to Panera before and didn't understand the "Pick 2" pricing. My husband ordered a half Caprese sandwich but Felix the associate who took the order and our payment did not ask what my husband wanted for the second (choice) "pick". We thought that 1/2 sandwich was $7.59 but were charged $8.99. Nowhere is it posted that a half of a Caprese sandwich is $8.99. THe whole sandwich is $11.49 - who would be stupid enough to buy a half when for $2.50 more you get a whole one??? I asked the manager, whose name is Jillian Horgan, about this and she said we can't explain things to every customer. She said you saw the price and you paid it. We didn't look at the screen closely when it was rung up - who does that??? I asked her to comp the sandwich, she refused. I asked then if we could get another half sandwich and pay the additional $2.45 to make the $11.49 the whole sandwich would have cost but she refused. I asked her to write down her name on a Panera business card, but then she asked me for my name!!! I of course refused. Then she talking about me to other customers or associates calliing me rude and aggressive. Yes I was upset but I didn't use profanity or personal insults, etc. My husband and I both lost our appetites and left our order on the table uneaten except for a few bites. $22.73 plus a $2 cash tip wasted. We'll never go to...
