I have been to Senior Frogs for drinks/apps in other areas, Mexico, Bahamas, etc. in the past, and since I had family coming into town, I thought let me try the Fort Lauderdale location since it’s in the area I live in and I had never been. What an absolute waste! The DJ was great and very interactive with the few people that were there, including ourselves. Great view of the beach, but unfortunately it was raining so there were maybe at most 15 customers in the restaurant. The waiter was also a nice guy. But, that was it. That was the entire positive experience. The drinks were basically loaded with juice and ice and absolutely no alcohol whatsoever. We ordered two chips appetizers, one with salsa and one with guac. The chips were stale. The guac had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Also ordered two street corn. It was a tiny plate of corn with some seasonings and a huge blob of something white. I don’t know if it was sour cream because it did not taste like sour cream and while Elote street corn is one of my absolute favorite dishes, this was just cold corn with seasoning, and it literally tasted like it was old because the corn was not soft or tender. We were a party of five and each of us ordered an entrée. We ordered two sets of fajitas, one chicken quesadilla, one Carne Asada tacos, and one order of chicken taquitos. Nothing had any flavor. The refried beans were a blob of bland something. The rice had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. There was no difference between instant rice and this rice that they served you.we asked for cheese for the fajitas, and we were charged $4 for a little condiment cup size cup of cheese. The first order of taquitos that came out were completely burnt (and I don’t mean slightly toasted, I mean black burnt) and the fact that they actually served it to me that way was crazy. I asked for them to re-cook them, and the second order that came out were the driest chicken taquitos I have ever tasted (and I eat these very often)! I doused them with lime to try and liven them up and nothing helped. The order had five taquitos and without exaggeration after the third bite, I gave up.. that was the end of my dinner. No one enjoyed anything that we ordered and to top it all off, Nothing was hot. It was all lukewarm as if it was just sitting around. I paid well over $300 for the five meals and one round of drinks. I travel very often, and we eat out a lot, especially when entertaining people from out of town and this was...
Read moreIt's basically what you would expect for a tourist destination, the food was good as I enjoyed the steak fajita. The atmosphere is nice, and you can sit outside and enjoy the food and drinks while overlooking the beach The drinks seemed a little weak, but I'm guessing it's one of those places where everything is measured out so it's consistent. It's about what I expected so we weren't disappointed. I was a bit disappointed with the service. We had 2 kids and asked the server about the kids eat free special. He said he didn't know anything about it and would ask the manager despite the sign in front of the restaurant. Once we received the bill, we were charged for the kids food and had to have them adjust the bill. I also noticed a 20% service charge that was added to the bill. I had assumed that it was an automatic tip added to the bill but wanted to make sure and asked the server (Emmanuel R). He tried to tell me that it wasn't a tip, but a "fee" that was shared between all of the staff. In other words, a tip that the server tips out to the rest of the staff which is customary. I'm not fond of automatic 20% tips added to my bill for a table of 4, but seeing as I usually tip 20% in vacation areas I can live with it. What I don't expect is the server trying to pass it off as something other than a tip to get an additional tip on top of it. That just makes me feel taken advantage of and that is what lowers my rating...
Read moreMy friend and I decided to try señor frogs in Fort Lauderdale for a fun Friday evening. When we walked up to Señor frogs, you can already tell this is the place where you go to have some good fun. When we walked in, we were taken on time for our reservation. As we were walked to our seats, the music was jamming, people were dancing, and the DJ plus the host had everybody out of their seats, having a great time. When you sit down the waitresses put funny, cute signs behind your chairs. As you look around, there is funny and unique decor around the restaurant; every time you look, you see a different item that will make you laugh. Our waitress Isabella was so fun and helped us with by giving us great suggestions, especially since this was our first time being here. While we ordered our drinks and waited for our food, the host had multiple fun games that everybody were playing to win free drinks. They even had a conga line of people getting free shots lol. When we got our food, everything tasted great, we ordered the queso with chorizo as an appetizer. The cheese and chorizo was seasoned very well and paired perfectly with the tortilla chips. I ordered the Carne asada dinner, which came with corn tortillas. This plate is enough for two people and it was delicious. Needless to say, I cannot wait until we come back to Señor frogs again to have some good food,...
