Update: so I returned for more beef briskets, unfortunately it was out of red coleslaw and replaced with some random arugula leaves with no dressing or sauce. When I opened the box, I was like wadda?!? It was just a few very lonely leaves next to my tasty briskets. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to its special coleslaw. I can see why it’s only getting an average of 3.8 stars from the reviewers here, despite of its tasty briskets. It was just a sign that staff here basically didn’t really care about their jobs. Quite unfortunate. Because of the briskets, I kept my 4* rating despite of lack of care from the staff. I can’t believe I actually tipped the staff. I need to learn to stop doing that if I noticed that the staff didn’t care about their jobs. Located inside of Ala Moana shopping center’s food court. We ordered the $25 Honolulu Special that consisted of beef, pork, chicken with lots of rice and a side. We chose the red cabbage Coleslaw. The beef was superb and I’ve eaten briskets in Texas many times, this was better. The pork was excellent as well, very tasty and fatty. The chicken on the other hand was not so good. It was dry and no flavor (except for the Smokey taste). The Coleslaw was good as well. The service was okay, but the lady who took my order seemed totally hated her job. I went back to see prior reviews and learnt that the reason this place had a low rating was due to its staff’s lack of caring for their jobs. Everyone seemed to like the food, but the staff left reviewers with a “bad taste” in the mouth, sort of speak.

I should have known when the employee was like "ma'am, ma'aaaam, MA'AAAAAAM, free sample" that I was about to get trapped. Give him a RAISE because he was hustling. He was working Friday evening (02/09/2024). The brisket here is so so so so good. Moist and just perfect. So blown away too that this place is just in the food court. I hate coming to the mall cause of all the people, let alone the food court. However, I'd go out of my way to have this brisket again. Also, I think there was butter one the rice or something?????? Or maybe it was just their au jus. Either way, God damn. I really hope they do well and stay here for good! Slaw not so good, but who cares about vegetables. For the people whining. NEWS FLASH: it's a food court. You want better than a food court? Take your pākē ʻōkole somewhere else.

this mall foodcourt is not my favorite, but it is popular with tourists and locals, this brisket shop is latest addition and it is an welcomed addition. overall, this foodcourt has mainstay nationwide chains, chikfil, jolleebees, pandas. tourist may find these comforting when they are sick of poke. as for LA brisket, the said mainfare is good to pretty-good. certainly not worse than other offerings here. worth a try. i think the sandwiches here are better options than the bowls. get the cheapest basic brisket sando, tell them to go easy on the mustard.

It was my first time and I got the brisket with a few sides. Overall the food wasn't bad. The brisket was good and the rice was good but the balance of brisket and rice was off, way too much rice with only 3 small thin slices of brisket left me with alot of rice left over and after looking at other people's pictures of receiving 6-7 juicy slices of meat I feel like I got ripped off. It's a bit pricey but that's expected from bbq places, I wish the sides & main were a little cheaper. I got the mac n cheese and beans, mac n cheese was lacking in salt and the cheese sauce which was all the flavor was all on the bottom I wish it had some real cheese in it as well. The beans had a pretty good flavor but the beans were kinda tough. I wish the beans were softer. It was good flavor overall so I might be back to try the pork with a side of bbq sauce. If you do try it just get the meats, dont bother...
