We went to Fork in January, 2024 and really liked the atmosphere, service quality and speed, and the food. It's a good idea to make reservations if you want to go, especially over the weekend and holidays. We ordered Asparagus Fries as an appetizer, Hickory-Smoked Shredded Beef Dip and Grilled King Salmon Sammy burgers, and bread pudding with ice cream for dessert. I also ordered Hot Buttered Rum to go with my food. Asparagus was nicely-textured, not fibery, crunchy and with a nice ranch on the side that balanced out the oiliness very well. Salmon Burger was very flavorful, with freshly grilled salmon, cooked perfectly inside, juicy and not dry, with pickled red onions, fresh arugula, tomatoes and great aioli sauce. The Beef Dip burger was even better, explosition of flavor, super beefy, the beef tasted like prime rib - tender, juicy, and with a bit of grilled flavor and melted cheddar that worked very well with other flavors. Would definitely order again. We ordered burgers with tomato soup on the side and that soup had a very bright tomato and garlic flavor, enjoyed it a lot. The rum drink was hot, with super nice nutmeg and I think a bit of cinnamon spice that really refreshed the flavor. Very warning and cozy, my new favorite. We ended the meal with bread pudding dessert. The portion was gigantic -I think four people could easily share it. The desert had a very prominent caramel flavor that mixed well with salt and vanilla ice cream that melted into it. Overall, really nice experience, fast and friendly service, great variety of funny forks, and a very beautiful and cozy space. Will return for sure.

Fork restaurant in downtown Boise is a culinary haven that ticks all the right boxes for a memorable dining experience. Food: Even if you're not typically a fan of asparagus, their asparagus fries are a game-changer and a definite must-try. Personally, I couldn't get enough of their huge Salmon Sammy and the mouthwatering Pulled Pork Burger. And for dessert, the Warm Butter Cake is the perfect sweet finale that will leave you craving more. Ambience: The ambience at Fork is simply fantastic. The low-lit interior, comfy seats, and inviting bar create the ideal atmosphere for a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience that you won't soon forget. Service: But what truly sets Fork apart is their impeccable service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued. Despite our reservation being a bit late, they served us with a smile well past closing time, showcasing their dedication to exceptional hospitality. Cost: While the prices may be slightly higher, the overall experience at Fork – from the delicious food to the inviting ambience and outstanding service – makes it well worth the investment. And if you're eager for more culinary delights, consider trying Alvita next door, which is under the same management. With Fork setting the bar high, I have no doubt Alvita will impress just as much.

I was so excited about this place after I saw their review on Eater. When we got to the restaurant we were told it would be a 45 min wait for a patio table on a Sunday afternoon. No problem, we grabbed a drink down at Juniper, which we love and recommend, to say Hi to Kyle and grab a drink while we wait. 10 mins after leaving we got a call back that our table was ready, so we had to extend our time as we just received our drinks. Once we got back to Fork we were greeted by the hostess who was surprised that we were 30 mins late after we called to confirm if it was ok to extend our wait time. Odd... We had 2 cocktails there... that’s all you need as the Mon-ida was watered down and garnished with a lemon... my gf had the old the fashion... Even though it was served on a rock, you can’t taste the whiskey but can see the vanilla beans... For starters we had the clams and Brussels sprouts. The clams and sauce was good. The Brussels were over glazed to the point that the crispy-ness faded. We were debating for the entree but wanted to really this place a chance since we’ve been hearing raved reviews on Fork. We had the surf and turf which was terrible... don’t bother. The steak was charred on the outside and not well done within the inside. This is results of the grill not being hot enough and the meat not being rotated every 4 mins. Of course this depending on the weigh of the cut. The scallops were very underdone. You can tell the frozen taste from it and you can tell they weren’t soaked before hand to bring out the marinate. The mash potatoes were boxed. The veggies were thrown onto the plate with the scallops being an after thought. I was so heart broken it made me doubt the quality of food in Boise. All in all I don’t know what to say about this place.

Fork in Boise is a restaurant that has received a lot of attention, but in my experience, it’s vastly overrated. I visited with high expectations, especially considering that most dishes are priced at $45 or more. However, the food was a major letdown. The ingredients didn’t stand out, and the flavors were far too salty, with an excessive amount of sauce on everything. The only thing I found enjoyable was the fried asparagus, which was well-cooked and tasty. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was disappointing. The chicken was dry and tough, lacking any juiciness or flavor, while the salmon was so ordinary that it felt like something I could have made at home with minimal effort. For a place that charges such high prices, I expected a much higher standard of food quality. The restaurant does have a nice atmosphere, and the service was decent, but these positives couldn’t make up for the lackluster food. I was genuinely surprised at how mediocre the meal was, especially given the price. It’s hard to understand why this place has received such good reviews when the food is so underwhelming. I left feeling not only disappointed but also that I had wasted my money on a meal that didn’t come close to justifying the cost. Given this experience, I definitely won’t be returning to Fork, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for a quality dining experience in Boise. There are better options in the area where you can get much better food for a more reasonable price.

I had such high hopes for this place and at first everything was perfect. Our server came right up to us as we were seated for an early dinner. We had a party of 7 which I get can be overwhelming and we all understood that. Our drink order was put in and then shortly after that our dinner orders were in. We didn't see our server again until we got food and since it's all made to order it was about 35 to 40 min so our drinks were empty. The food comes and it all looks so good but the fries were cold, not warm like they just sat there for a second but cold as if they sat for a while. The steak was ordered medium rare and came well done and tough. Everything else was alright, nothing to write home about just average. We eventually got warm again, not hot, fries and when a new steak came out it was a lot smaller than the first but perfectly cooked. Others in our party ordered the grilled cheese, a salad, burgers, salmon and a kids spaghetti. All in all everyone liked the food but the initial impression wasn't good and definitely wasn't worth what we paid in the end. Our service was alright but we all definitely ran out of drinks multiple times and we had to flag down a server to get the food the fixed after we waited a while because we literally HATE being those people. Normally we would not have asked for anything to be fixed or complained about preparation, however, when you're paying a premium price the food should come the way you order it

What a fantastic dining experience during my brief visit to Boise! I tried Fork after seeing their well-deserved positive reviews. We luckily got seated immediately and had great service from everyone, particularly from our server, Danica, who was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. I ordered the Saturday night special Slow Rotisserie Roasted Herb Crusted Northwest Prime Rib cooked medium rare with the brown butter mashed potatoes. The generously portioned prime rib was cooked perfectly, with a perfect balance of flavor, and the potatoes were creamy and flavorful. I paired it with a glass of the 2021 Juggernaut Hillside Cabernet (4 stars on Vivino, btw), which was so smooth and was an excellent complement to the meal. The wine offerings are extensive and impressive, but I learned they have a very reasonable corkage fee of $10 if you have something else in mind. I hesitated to go with dessert after such a satisfying meal, but I'm so glad I indulged and decided to go with the butter cake, which was incredible. Unexpectedly, they'd run out of vanilla ice cream and topped it with chocolate, and it worked well! Each bite was a gift to my taste buds. I suggest asking for this substitution if you're so inclined. All in all, I can't recommend Fork enough. I hope to return someday!
