Letâs start with the good. The building and staff were excellent. The food was pretty to look at but mediocre. The scotch egg used a sausage wrap that was too spicy and looked undercooked plus the sauce underneath just didnât go nicely. I was going to have the burger but the table next to us wouldnât say it was bad but wouldnât say it was good. A young healthy male left a third of his uneaten. My French onion soup had a delicious cheese crust but the soup was not the rich beefy stock I like. This may just be a personal preference. The blue cheese wedge was weird as I asked them to chop up but there were peaâs and corn in it that added no value or flavor but it was the cold chunks of bacon that were not nice. I love bacon but they just need some freshly crisped thick cut bacon and it would have made a nice salad. My husband had the beef Wellington and said it was pretty good. The restaurant was nearly empty by 8:30 on a Saturday. Itâs a great venue but I hope they will get an independent group of reviewers to make suggestions on the food as itâs frustratingly close but just not good enough to get repeat business. Simple changes could make it a...

The steak was ruined by an extreme amount of boring sauce and too much pepper crust that masked all flavor. The pork chop was overcooked and nearly flavorless with a terrible sauce. The carrots were presented in a gross amount of low quality remoulade. The tartar which we normally love and always try was literally gross, with an overcooked egg on top. Even the cocktails were weak and poorly conceived of.
On top of this our waitress who was a lovely human clearly had never worked high end dining before as evidenced by how she opened and poured our wine, dealt with wine glasses, cleared plates and sequenced food orders. No one there even cared about how out of her depth she was. Really felt bad for her.
We loved the atmosphere but seriously we're insulted by everything else, especially for the price. Avoid at all costs. This place is a trainwreck of a restaurant. Better off at fast food as at least it has flavor and costs...
Read moreThe menu and previous reviews were promising, but thatâs where it stopped. I donât know if Chef had an off night, but I much would have rather set my money on fire than have had this dining experience. My mother said she never had a burger like this before and not in a good way. The tavern burger was as mediocre as it comes. They use a coarse grind, but the burger was littered with fat and veins from the cuts they use to make the burgers. If youâre gonna charge $28 for a burger, it better be good and it just wasnât. Neither were the fries which came out cold. The grilled watermelon salad was supposed to include burrata, but it came with mozzarella pearls. And donât even get me started on the Beef Wellington. The puff pastry was not cooked through, the mushroom duxelle was not a duxelle (just a spattering of tasteless mushrooms), and the cook of the filet was all over the place (some parts well done and some medium rare). There are far more better restaurants in Jackson Hole to spend your money at within this price point. The only saving grace of this meal was the lobster...
