This is a fair and balanced review. Visit 3:35pm Saturday 6/29/2019 Food Quality was 2 of 5 Cleanliness was 4 of 5 Greeting and Welcome 1 of 5 Initial treatment upon arrival 1 of 5 Secure and controlled environment 5 of 5 Bathroom Condition 4 of 5 Hostess/Waitress 0 of 5 (Explained in Summary) Summary: We entered the facility and the "Alpha Female," stated that we "must order at the counter, pay, and pick up our own food. We just road our motorcycle 3 hours to get there, and didn't want to stand up for 15 minutes deciding what to eat. So I begged to take 4 menus and find a seat. Although the Senior Cook(?) did not like it, she allowed us to take 4 menus to sit down, and relax. I then took a napkin and wrote down everyone's order (As directed, since there was no waitress service) and reported directly back to the cash register, as ordered, to present the rude person behind the counter with my family's meal. Remember, we drove on motorcycles 3 hours, and as written above, we held off on our normal "Lunch Hour," because we were so excited to enjoy our experience here. Unfortunately, we were sincerely and sadly disappointed. So, for 4 personal pizzas, garlic knots, salad, 2 beers it was $112.74. Wow, I know JH is a tourist area, but 4 less than average pizzas, stale beer, and appetizers that showed up after we boxed up our leftovers, I don't think that the bill was proportional to the service or quality of food, that could be purchased cheaper elsewhere with much higher quality. Oh, yeah, you will get service at ANY other restaurant in the area. I guarantee that you won't be told to stand still, find the menus, order, pay, then find your seat. Additionally, you are required to pay, including tip, PRIOR TO THE SERVICE. Since I didn't want anything (surprises) in my food, I HAD TO TIP TO HAVE UNTAINTED FOOD. I waited 9 hours thinking about how to be level headed in this review so that the next person can read this and get a true glimpse of what we endured. I will not return to Jackson Hole. Park City, Sun Valley, and several other resorts are closer and less expensive, and will have service. Just to be fair, at the end, a 9 month pregnant waitress brought us our meal, so we didn't have to fetch, as directed at the beginning of the experience. I felt bad that she was carrying all the meals and working in the heat, she was very polite. After 26 years of military service, we were treated better on the ship at sea, eating off of metal trays. It was quicker and tasted better, and you didn't feel bad about the whole experience, leaving half your wallet for frozen pizza quality food. I have a picture of the pizza I ordered, the pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage were effectively split into thirds, not a single piece of the pizza had all of the toppings. I feel like the folks behind the counter would have trouble couching an elementary soccer game. The appetizer coming out after the boxes for leftovers, after we already paid. There's no excuse for this type of service or poor quality of food, beverages. I would simply ask management, is this what they expect out of their staff? I would find it hard to believe that they would expect the customers to stand at the counter, find their own menu, and pay for a service tip, when there is no service. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever find out an answer, and wish you all the best of experiences, no matter where you decide to go. ...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING! We got done hiking the Grand Tetons and stopped by this place on the way out of town hoping to get a quick bite to eat before we headed out of town. We walk in the door and the guy greets us and says in a very friendly and welcoming way, “we close in 4 minutes but don’t worry, you can still order.” I asked him if he was sure and he insisted that we eat. The staff was all very pleasant even though we were walking in last minute. We ordered and I ordered jalapeños along with some other items on my pizza. We sat down and moved tables a couple times because we couldn’t settle on a spot. Food came out in more than a timely manner and our pizzas were correct with one wxceotion. Instead of jalapeño there were banana peppers on my pizza. I pointed it out but told them it was no problem and I’d eat it. Come to find out someone else had ordered my exact pizza but with banana peppers instead of jalapeños. They took the pizza there and then brought me out a new one. However because of the switch up they brought me out the exact same pizza. Again, they were extremely apologetic and I assured them it was fine and I was good with this pizza. We finished both pizzas and were incredibly impressed with the flavor and atmosphere. Oscar in the kitchen heard about the mixup and unbeknownst to me, had made me the correct pizza to go at no extra cost. These guys are top notch and to say our experience was anything less than extraordinary wouldn’t do them justice. If you’re in this town you MUST stop by and grab a pizza! You won’t be disappointed! They’ll make sure of that!...
Read moreFirst time there last night a Saturday night and was not too crowded on a rainy night. My husband has been here many times. I got the white sauce pizza with pears, bacon and Gorgonzola and it was delicious. I ate all but two pieces myself (thin crust is my excuse and I am sticking to it!). Staff is very friendly and smiling. You order and pay at counter and they deliver to your table and check up on you. I can’t compare to Caldera under previous owner but was told the recipes were sold as part and my husband says it was same. He had a pizza with basil, elk, etc. and was very happy and ate it all. Decent beer, wine, Liquor selection. Bathroom was clean. My minor gripe resulting in 3 stars for atmosphere was the music was distractingly loud. There were some large groups who probably didn’t notice and it may have drowned them out more, but after a while it was annoying even with a large group talking nearby. It also makes people talk louder. I did not ask them to turn it down and I am sure they would have done so. There are a lot of steps to get there which may trouble some people. Parking was not easy but it is Jackson. More picnic atmosphere than restaurant with knives and forks and napkins on tables in cans. Ok for a pizza joint vibe but not too classy and I had to take some from another table when my table was short. Overall it was clean. Will definitely go again. Pretty pricey pizza but it is Jackson. Nice views outside on balcony with fires but it was raining so...
