Levee Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Kansas City

I had never been here before, but my friend wanted to go for her 26th birthday. I went with my husband and sister as well. They had a 5$ cover per person. We got there and live music was playing which was awesome. We got a beer from the bar and then sat down and wanted to order food. I went to the bar to order food and the bartender said there's a waitress for my section. So I sit down and wait about 15 minutes and no one comes by. I go back up to the bar to ask for the waitress and I see him tell some other guy so I assumed they'd be over shortly. Another 15 minutes go by and still no waitress. So I decide I don't want food anymore.. and then finally the waitress comes and asks if I was wanting to order food and I just said no thanks, I'm fine. 5 minutes later the manager comes over and tells me I have to leave because I shoved a waitress!?? That I talked to for 5 seconds?? Don't support this horrible excuse for a business. I was falsely accused by them and kicked out. I couldn't finish my beer and didn't get my cover money back. Treated like a criminal..All because of a bold faced lie. They treat their customers terribly. DO...

Neat spot. Several levels & outdoor spaces. Went for the very first whiskey tasting event. That was ok... Lots of rye and scotch, not a lot of bourbon which is more our preference. The tequila on offer ended up being our best pick. For $200 per couple for premium level tickets, was expecting something a bit different I suppose. Catered meal consisted of turkey, roast beef and vegetarian 1/4 sandwiches, fruit, chips, water. A few hot items came out about 30mins after our arrival, which was supposed to be available upon arrival at the premium level so folks who arrived later got that. Didn't use all our sample cups, tossed about a dozen cups between us. Don't know the DJ party atmosphere downstairs was necessarily the vibe I was expecting. The gift at the end was barware we already own and two tasting glasses we would have rather used during. Not sure what we were expecting there. I understand they were likely paying for the premium bottle service so that probably absorbed a majority of the cost. A relatively nice place, the hires they have at security need to be trained properly. no sort of professionalism just some juice heads with radios that were given some type of authority and blatantly abuse it. I had an encounter where they asked me to leave and i gladly excused myself out of the building but as Im on my way out a couple of the “security” guards felt he needed to show he had some authority and put his hands on me, i told him i didnt need anyone touching me and that i was on my way out, he didnt like being told what he could and couldnt do and took a very aggressive tone. The situation escalated, but then was resolved by a much calmer guard that realized what was going on. i understand being brief and checking people when they are in the wrong but to use force on someone who is showing themselves out and only doing so because their egos were tested is a huge liability for the bar. i hope whoever is in charge of security, takes a good look at who they have hired and can be certain that these are levelheaded...
