Our recent dining experience at Ragazza in Kansas City was nothing short of a culinary journey to Italy. From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable evening. The menu was a delightful fusion of traditional Italian flavors with a modern twist.

To start, we savored the Italian Sausage and Artichoke Soup, a comforting bowl of hearty goodness that blended savory sausage and tender artichoke in a creamy broth. The Meatballs appetizer was a taste of perfection, each bite bursting with rich, savory flavor.

For the main course, our selections showcased the diverse offerings at Ragazza. The Grilled Lemon Porkchop with Potatoes au Gratin was a triumph of flavors, with the succulent porkchop perfectly complemented by the creamy and indulgent potatoes.

The Mediterranean Salad with Steak Skewer was a refreshing and satisfying option, the steak skewer cooked to perfection.

The Eggplant Parmesan was a vegetarian delight, featuring layers of tender eggplant, flavorful tomato sauce, and melted cheese.

The Sunday Sauce Everyday, a signature dish at Ragazza, was a hearty and authentic Italian experience, with the sauce rich and deeply satisfying.

To accompany our meals, we indulged in Sicilian Sunset cocktails—each sip was a burst of citrusy goodness with a hint of sweetness, the perfect complement to our Italian feast.

And what's an Italian meal without a sweet ending? The Limoncello Cake was a heavenly dessert, moist and infused with the bright flavors of lemon. Topping it off with a house-made Limoncello shot was the perfect way to conclude our meal.

The attentive service at Ragazza added to the overall experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and provided recommendations that enhanced our dining choices.

In summary, Ragazza in Kansas City offers an exceptional Italian dining experience. From appetizers to dessert, every dish showcased a dedication to quality and flavor. The ambiance and service further elevated our evening, making it a memorable culinary adventure. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving authentic Italian cuisine, Ragazza is a destination that promises an unforgettable dining experience. We can't wait to return and explore more of their...

This review was difficult to write, yet I felt needed to be said Outstanding cocktails and excellent service at the bar while waiting for our friends to arrive Enjoyed a delicious charcuterie platter & meatballs as well Went to our table around 4:50ish

Our waiter came, greeted us warmly and helped us with questions we had about the menu More cocktails were ordered. A short time later, we ordered a bottle of wine and 6 dinners

ALL of our entrees exceeded expectations I am gluten free, by need, the pasta was cooked to perfection. No always the case many places

Our friends raved about their dinners and the wine complemented our selections very well

Ordered a few desserts to share and were really having a wonderful time.... UNTIL....

Just as we were "finishing" our meal, BEFORE the bill was presented... the "hostesses" came over to tell us "a party of 6 had reserved our table for 6:30" told us "there is a two hour time limit for dining"

So basically, we were asked to leave Not sure if she acted on her own, or was instructed by management to do so

I looked at my watch... it was exactly 6:36 PM

SERIOUSLY?

IN ALL MY YEARS of dining, in NY, California, Europe, all over the United States & we now live in Dallas, I, NOR these friends or my Culinary Institute of America chef educated husband E.V.E.R. not once, ever, have been asked to vacate a table for another party. Our ages by the way... 27 to 65

We had NOT even been presented with our bill when she came to our table

This is beyond poor customer service

Our wonderful holiday experience, connecting with dear friends was really impacted by this treatment

All I can say is... we were flabbergasted.

My friends, who love In Kansas were embarrassed and will be sure to let all they know of our treatment in this...

The first night my friends and I had reservations on Thursday night early and had a great time! Eggplant Parmesan was fantastic and everyone was very happy! BUT... I returned on Sunday night at 6PM or so with another friend, and we were waiting for a couple of seats to open up at the bar and I said I would get us a couple of glasses of wine and be right back while she waited in the corner behind the hostess. I stood at the bar next to a nice older gentleman who was a regular, trying to get the attention of one of the 2 bartenders, but to no avail! I even told him how much I loved the place, as his drink was refreshed, but once again, I was ignored! After about 20 minutes, the lady finally asked for my order, 2 glasses of wine, which were by the glass, nothing special. She then proceeded to take care of a couple who were checking out and went to the kitchen and not getting my wine. When I saw her a few minutes later on the other side of the bar, I approached her and asked what happened to my order? She replied that she was trying to clear the bar for the next couple to be able to be seated. I then said to cancel the order because I was leaving. Then the hostess said that our seats were ready, as those seats were ours, to which she replied "OH THAT'S JUST GREAT"! And she said it VERY sarcastically! I didn't say anything. I just walked out. I knew it wasn't going to get any better from there! They have a small sign on the bar that says something about being polite or they'll refuse service! What about the other way around guys? I've was a bartender and waitress years ago and I know that no matter how busy you are, you are paid by the customer, and service is your business as well as your food! I left a $40 tip on the bill the first night. Ended up enjoying the...

3.5 if Google would allow .5 stars. I read an article in Feast magazine towards the end of last year about Ragazza. My wife and I are "foodies," so I have always kept it on my list. Like many good restaurants in the metro, getting to the restaurant run you through some unsavory parts of town. Parking is around the back and is limited to about ten spots tops. Luckily our reservation was at 8:30 pm the lot would have been full for sure. You can't miss the large size walking up from the street. The building is beautiful from the outside and well lit on the parking side. As you first walk into Ragazza, you are greeted by not only the friendly staff but color floor tiles in lovely patterns all over the floor. The entire restaurant has a warm and almost "date" feel about it. One whole side had a bench with pillows that hang on a metal rod and can be moved. The staff was helpful in my wife's question about pairing with her dinner, and the whiskey drinks I picked were very well mixed. Our evening started with what they called an antipasti plate. Charcuterie board Italian style to me :) It was exceptionally well thought out and had great flavor. I had the spaghetti and meatballs because I read that they were known for their meatballs, and I was very impressed with the tomato pasta sauce. My wife had the lasagna, and that is were our overall experience sort of went south. My wife loves pasta, and I typically and the one that does not give it a chance. However, this time her meal was just not acceptable. There was to much cheese and not enough sauce, and it left an odd aftertaste in your mouth. 75% of our meal was very good, however. None the less we plan to try Ragazza again to see if she might be able to find another meal that will be as good as mine.
