I was disappointed with the rushed service, but food was decent.
Before our trip to Las Vegas from Canada, I had seen numerous TikTok videos raving about Tony Roma’s, which made us excited to visit. We decided to take a trip from the Strip to Fremont Street specifically to eat here and explore the area.
We arrived around 5 PM on a Friday, waited about 20 minutes outside, and were seated in a comfortable dining area. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere that initially made us feel welcome. However, the experience quickly took a turn.
As soon as we sat down, the server approached without any greeting and immediately asked for our drink and dinner orders. My mom asked for a few minutes, but the server persisted, pressing the rest of our group for orders. Feeling rushed and caught off guard, we hastily placed orders for drinks and meals—some of us choosing items like the prime rib special and Caesar salad.
We were disappointed that the beer options weren’t explained or offered, and because we were rushed, none of us felt comfortable asking about local craft beer options. Instead, I settled for a Diet Pepsi, which was served in a glass overly filled with ice and quickly emptied. Refills took too long, leaving me parched during the meal.
The food itself was enjoyable: the prime rib was delicious and came with all the fixings including a baked potato, a small plastic container of whipped butter, sour cream and yummy hot horse radish. The cooked veggies were the kind you'd get in the freezer section of your grocery store. The Caesar salad dressing was excellent, although portions were small, and two of our salads lacked croutons. As in one or two croutons. No joke. When I pointed this out to our waitress and mentioned that the rushed service contributed to missed items, our server seemed to slightly slow down but didn't make it right. I'm not looking for free anything. Just make our dinner good, which we were happy to pay for.
Overall, the service felt hurried and inattentive. While I understand the restaurant was busy, the stress of that should stay behind the scenes—not make customers feel unwelcome or pressured. The check was dropped on our table without anyone checking in, and we didn’t order any additional drinks due to the poor service.
If you’re looking for a good prime rib at a reasonable price, this place delivers. But if you’re looking for a relaxed experience with attentive service and a chance to explore drink options—especially after walking under the hot Nevada sun all day—this might not be the...
Read moreWaited an hour to get in. We all ordered the steak and lobster. There was 8 of us in our group. I took a slice of the steak and I smelled it and then it didn’t smell very good. It smelled rotten. But then I said, maybe it’s just me. The meat was overcooked. So I traded it with someone else who had their meat cooked to my Viking, which is medium rare. Then I cut a slice of that one. And it tasted really weird just as the first one did. So I asked anyone if their meat tasted weird and they said it did so they didn’t eat it. Some of us ate it and some of us didn’t. Then I began to look around, and I saw one man holding his stomach Then I saw another couple get up and leave and only eat a baked potato Then I heard people talking So I continued, and I ate my lobster. The vegetables tasted frozen like frostbite. Then I asked the bus boy if something was wrong with the meat he said yes the meat went bad The meat tasted as if they left it out or something !! it was horrible I went to the bathroom and I started vomiting and throwing up and feeling nauseous. My temperature went up. I was sweating. I didn’t know what was happening to me, but I think I got food poisoning. So after coming back from the bathroom, a lot of people were sitting there with no food. So I asked the waiter if something is wrong with the meat because I just vomited and I don’t feel very well He said don’t worry about it. I’m only gonna charge you for your salad. And I asked him again. Is there something wrong with the meat? I feel sick I don’t feel well. He said I’m taking off the food except the salad . That wasn’t my point. My point was the food bad or what? No questions were answered. The next thing I know these people are sitting there waiting 20 minutes for their food. And the waiter tell them we close the kitchen we’re closing down the restaurant early . There will be no food coming out. But yet they were serving two lobsters per plate. To a group of 10 people. And then again another four plates came out with two lobsters on each plate. I will never go to this place ever again. The service was horrible. The food was rotten. And the lobster tail was the size of my finger. My pinky size that is. I wonder who’s gonna compensate me for my medication I had to take for...
Read moreTitle: Disappointing Service Experience at Tony Roma's in Las Vegas
Rating: 🐼🐼 (2/5)
I recently dined at Tony Roma's in Las Vegas, and unfortunately, I had quite a disappointing experience with the service. While the food itself was enjoyable, the long wait and the apparent prioritization of other customers left much to be desired.
Firstly, the waiting time for the food was incredibly lengthy. I waited for an hour and a half before receiving my order, which is quite an excessive amount of time, considering the average wait time at most restaurants. This prolonged wait was certainly frustrating and negatively impacted my overall dining experience.
Adding to my disappointment, I observed that two parties who arrived after me were able to place their orders and receive their food within a mere 10 minutes (which was also the steak and lobster special). This inconsistency in service puzzled and disappointed me further. It raised questions about the fairness and efficiency of the staff's order-taking protocol, leading us to feel neglected and overlooked as customers.
On a more positive note, I did have the opportunity to try the steak and lobster special, which was undeniably delicious. I was enticed by the mouthwatering description and attention-grabbing billboard, so I decided to give it a go. The taste and quality of the dish lived up to the hype, and it was certainly a highlight of the meal.
However, it's vital to mention that good food alone is not enough to provide a satisfactory dining experience. The lackluster service that I encountered overshadowed the positive aspects of the meal, leaving me with a sense of disappointment.
In conclusion, while Tony Roma's in Las Vegas may offer tasty food, the unsatisfactory service I experienced significantly marred my overall impression. It is disheartening when a memorable meal is tarnished by extensive waiting times and an apparent discrepancy in the prioritization of customers. I hope that Tony Roma's management takes note of these concerns and makes efforts to improve the service aspect of their establishment, ensuring a more consistently positive experience for...
