Old review, recently edited for privacy reasons: Going through a really rough patch, I decided to take a quick trip to Leavenworth to clear my head and get perspective on some issues. Going through a really rough patch, I also decided to eat a whole pizza by myself after having no food for three days. Delivery took upwards of two hours (Approx. 10 minutes of which were my own fault and I had agreed to a quoted wait time of 1.5 hours). Partially because they had a really long wait time in general, and partly because me being VERY new to the area and incredibly distraught about a plethora misfortunes including interpersonal issues, the separation of my parents, death of my grandmother and a genetic disease I was recently diagnosed with that gives me daily pain, I stumbled a little on the phone call and accidentally agreed that I was at the Alpine River hotel instead of the Apline Rose where I actually stayed. Being suicidally depressed and starving and weak from crying for several days, I mistakenly gave the wrong place. I did not fault the restaurant or delivery gentleman, as I try to be very understanding of these situations and recognized I was at fault and understood the 1.5 hour wait time I was quoted. The correction in delivery was made within ten minutes, so I was not at all displeased at the swift correction taken by the delivery man and tipped well. $20 on a $31 bill. All this being said, I could have done without a remark made by the woman who called me to straighten out the incorrect delivery location.. She was quite short with me on the phone and seemingly demanded me to "Tip him well, he's out there working hard for you." before clicking off the phone. A small thing that, if I were in a good state of mind, would not have bothered me so much... I always strive to be a kind and fair tipper, and was not at all difficult in the process and very apologetic to my mistake... And going through such a rough time as I am... I suppose I could have used just a bit more understanding and patience and not as much attitude for a simple mistake. I know I messed up, and agreed to a long wait time, but my pizza did take over two hours, without even calculating the time for the correction.. and I didn't need to feel reprimanded. I wasn't trying to be difficult, I don't know the area, and again, I'm having a very, very hard time... The pizza is good, if a bit cold and I know that's probably my fault. I just want the woman who called me to MAYBE be a bit more mindful of what other people may be going through before getting snippy with them. Would still recommend. I acknowledge that others are going through their own struggles and maybe it was a hard day at work. I only ask the...
Read moreOnce I got the correct pizza, it was very tasty. Getting it was a comedy or errors. I ordered a thick crust, small, "Build Your Own" pizza- half pepperoni & half sausage with olives & extra mozzarella on the whole pizza. The first pizza came out really slow. The phone order before me was told 30 minutes, it had been 45 minutes. I returned to the counter & was told "it's Friday night in Leavenworth". I agreed it was pretty busy & the friendly girl behind the counter, (also taking phone orders & pouring beers on tap) was moving a mile a minute. Assured it wouldn't be much longer, I went back to my table to wait. The pizza came a few minutes later: not thick crust & no extra mozz (both had cost extra) and it wasn't hot. I took it back, spoke to a very busy manager who also said first off- "it's Friday night in Leavenworth". I acknowledged how busy they were, but explained I didn't get what I paid for, plus it's not very warm. She asked what she could do to make things right & offered to remake it. I said that was great, but didn't want to wait another 45 plus minutes. She said she'd get it to me in 10 minutes. Plus she refunded the cost of the pizza. Ok, great! Very nice way to handle the mixup. Pizza #2 came out hot & wrong: pepperoni & sausage on the whole pizza, but nice thick crust with extra cheese. She apologized again, said they'd make another with just sausage since I don't eat pepperoni & I said my hubby would eat the other pizza. 20 minutes later #3 pizza came out correctly, nearly 2 hrs after my 6:12 order time. I do appreciate how the manager handled the errors, and we liked the thick crust pizza once we got it, but Geeze! What a hassle! Most of the staff were really hustling due to being so busy. Maybe the pizza builders need to double check the orders to avoid errors & the extra work caused by...
Read moreThe staff were friendly enough. The pizza is decent, but way more expensive than it should be. This place is not fancy in any fashion. Fake fireplace, kitchen paper towels on the table.
And no forks. I mean, there were girls at once point in the day, but we out. The guy handed us three plastic forks and says "that's all we have". And the plastic forks were the super cheap gas station kind that snap if you try to stab into anything.
Chicken pieces = Toaster oven frozen parts. There is nothing good about them. And I've though it mentions "dipping sauce" we paid $0.69 for regular BBQ sauce in a little cup.
And I am wondering why I have to provide a tip at the register when I'm ordering. And I am given three choices: 15%, 18%, and 20%. I put my own bank card in the reader and ordered at a counter. Somebody brought the pizza to my table. That's it. Why am I tipping that before I even to sit? The world has gone mad.
Three people, three drinks and $15 for toaster-oven reheated frozen chicken pieces. You know, the kind that comes in a bag at Safeway in the freezer aisle. Maybe 8 pieces, and not good at all. With tip the meal was ~$120. Nobody ever came to the table to see how everything was.
$40 per person, and not a metal fork on the restaurant us clean. The restaurant had three tables occupied when we came in. It was slow.
This is basically a less branded version of a Dominoes with less choices at 3x the price.
I'm really depressed at what American dining has become. Kids growing up today will never know the great dining experiences we had when I was a kid. We are racing...
