Ive been wanting to at one of these since they had one in tacoma but i didn't have a chance. So when my son said he'd go to leavenworth with eat lunch there i was so excited. First it was wierd they had us qr the menu which would be done but my phone was dead and they didn't offer a regular me u or even ask just kinda said this is where you get the menu and walked away. Then we had to go to the counter and order which is fine expect my sons phone had the me u so i had to try to remember what we all wanted. So i go up and order be wanted an italian soda. The lady said do you want that work cream and whip cream. I didn't know since it was for my son so i had to call him over. We asked him and he said no cream or whip cream. He said the last gave him a look so he sat down but we were very close to the place you order so he could still hear and see. So i order a giant pretzel and my sons food. I also wanted to try the fries. I said I'm going to butcher this cheese frites and tried to say it and said i think that's how it is. The lady said idk its german for fries its just cheese fries. Yes i knew it was cheese fries. I was hoping she would know how to say it correctly not reticle me like a child for trying to pronounce it. I should also saw my son and i are trying to learn german and that's why we wanted to eat here. We wanted to try a few things to try some German food. I said what to eat for me. The lady said how many people are you feeding? I said 2. She said this is enough food. I felt fat shamed. We wanted to try a few things to try it not to eat it all but even if we wanted to why couldn't we? I would have spent alot more but felt like i just washed to sit down. I go to the table and my son said can we just leave that lady was so rude. I just want to go. I said i already paid at the counter we can't leave. My sons drink was gross of course cause he didn't put cream in it. I told him to go to the counter and get something else, he said no i just eat to go. The food came , it was ok. We barely ate it went up to the counter and asked for boxes and go to leave. Walk outside to leave with 3 boxes and someone out side gave us a bag. I definitely feel like for almost $100 spent i would have got way better service any where else. Unfortunately i don't think my family will be back. I didn't catch the waitresses name or bartender not sure which since we had to order at the bar which she was. I should also say the beer wasent cold nor was my glass. Its 90 degrees out at least want a cold drink. We drive an hr to eat there and left hungry, thirsty and saddened at...
Read moreMy wife and I have eaten at a good majority of the local restaurants in the immediate area throughout the years, but have always missed out on Rhein Haus, which promotes the best pretzel, since the lines outside are typically 20 folks strong. We had time and decided to burn some time waiting and try things out. First bad sign, after waiting for about 10 or 15 minutes, we noticed how two folks arriving after us were brought to the front of the line and seated prior. We were a party of two, why the preferential treatment. My wife asked me to be quiet and patience and I did. Eventually making it to the front of the line, we were eventually seated. The waiter had us leave our table to go and order at another location in the restaurant - odd system. The menu wasn't clear. I simply wanted a bratwurst platter with fries and a pretzel; my wife wanted to substitute her fries for a salad. They don't substitute; therefore, we needed to refine our order. Although the menu doesn't indicate this right off the bat, there's a right column (see the tree through the forest) that eludes to how you need to choose the type of bratwurst you'd like. Just wanted a normal bratwurst. The person taking our order seemed annoyed the entire time, as we asking questions. Really wish some advice or recommendations were made, as this would have sped up the process. Sat down, didn't wait long. Standard pretzel arrived, not the giant. It was warm and tasted okay. Cheese sauce was okay. I did not think this was better than the others offered down below by any means based on my other experiences out in this area. Heirloom Tomato and cucumber salad arrived and it was a big plate of tomatoes with 4 small slices of cucumber on top. Should have been called a tomato salad, lol; ridiculous. We ordered the habanero cheddar Wurst filled brats. Food wasn't piping hot, but warm. I didn't finish mine; was a bit grossed out by the old sauerkraut and cheese. Fries weren't bad, but shouldn't have been the highly of this meal! Bad choice. We were only drinking water. At one point I needed to get up and get my own water refilled. Food for thought, if they ask you to pay and tip in advance, be aware; be VERY AWARE! Not a fan, zero anticipation of going back. I'll stick to the locations I like down below on the next go around. Avoid waiting in line and being majorly...
Read moreThis place has become our favorite spot to eat in Leavenworth. We always enjoy a nice outdoor lunch here. They have a good selection of Wurst on their menu. We really enjoy the mini fire pits on the tables when they're on, this time we went during a hot day so they weren't on. The staff are friendly and bring out your order pretty quickly. Upon arrival it's first come first serve basis, you wait outside in a line to be seated with your group (we were a group of 9 and they sat us together). Then once its your turn to be seated, they give you your table number and you can go to the counter to place your order and get your drinks. Then they bring your order to your table.
For snacks we loved the Cheese Fries, comes with the Beer cheese fondue which is so good!
For WURST UND BUN section we tried two of THE MUNICH and it comes with fries. We loved the combination of beer cheese fondue with a toasted bun! For one of them we changed the RH kielbasa sausage to the HABANERO CHEDDARWURST if you prefer something spicy to eat.
If you're in a group and want to share, we recommend the GRILLWURST SCHMANKERL (over two pound sampler of RH sausages with sauerkraut, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and a pickle spear) for $48. Add extra buns to eat with the sausages. This is a great way to try all the sausages and see which one is your favorite.
They also have burgers and sandwiches, I recommend the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich comes in a pretzel bun which is good and fries. Also have tried the Burger and Fish sandwich, those options are pretty good as well.
It's all about the Beer here! We come for the big boot which is Liter size and they have good beer selections. We order EX NOVO ELLIOT IPA, that's our favorite IPA here to drink. For Cider I ordered the BAD GRANNY HONEY CRISP CIDER, it came in a can and they give you a glass to pour into. For cocktails I've tried the Raspy Mule which wasn't that good (haven't ordered again) and a mimosa which came in a small wine glass so it's better to order the Mimosa Bottle Service for bigger portion and better price.
Overall great experience for outdoor seating with amazing views of the snowy mountains in the back. They have good food and good service. Great beer especially the Liter size boots! You can't go wrong with having a good time here and enjoying a day in...
