Honestly so so bad. Do not go here unless you want to walk out feeling terrible in every way. For the longest time this was on the very top of my list of places i needed to try. I was so excited. I have a number of allergies and the menu seems amazing.
However the food is really really not good, not even considering the cost. More than that, i finished it feeling more bloated and nasty than i have in a long time. So for all of the things they say they are, it seems like there’s something they use in their cooking that is not good. So not safe for those with sensitive guts. I got the rad thai, their take on pad thai and it was mushy and bad and almost tasteless. It came with a side of tasteless greens and tasteless and dry quinoa all for 31$. They used thin clear noodles instead of a flat noodle. Pad thai in and of itself is gluten free besides the soy sauce so it’s not hard to make a healthier version. Next time I know to make it at home because my god did they mess this one up. Just mush, no texture, no flavor, and 4 pieces of the tiniest broccoli mixed in and maybe 15 strands of carrot. $31.
On top of that the cashier was unbelievably rude and short with me totally uncalled for. And also just… weird? She took my order and then later when it came out even though i was the only other person in the restaurant she half-yelled out “rad thai” “rad thai” a number of times in a really irritated voice. The whole time i was standing pretty much right in fromt of her and there wasnt anyone else and she was yelling out into the distance in an irritated voice. Like girl wth 😂. It was 7pm too it wasnt even late. Also while i was waiting for my order i asked about the ice cream and she was texting the whole time and pretended not to hear me the first time. And then was like so irritated rolled her eyes at me and like mumbled ill get to you get out of the way there are other customers here. There were no other customers. Tho some customers came in 2 minutes later, i guess she was pre-empting the future lmao. She was acting like this with me the moment i walked in.
The ambiance is bad too. It is not comfortable at all to sit and dine in. That might be on purpose. I guess they dont want you there.
So if you want to feel like garbage both in your head and in your stomach this is the place for you. Would give 1 star but 2 for what they represent. Glad there’s a vegan and supposedly healthy restaurant here but that’s all they can get credit for because you dont leave it...
Read moreUnfortunately, after years of spending hundreds here, the customer service was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had… so I won’t return. They have kept the manager Stephanie here, and I see other customers have had similar issues with her—so I settled on the fact that I shouldn’t bring myself or friends/family here again since the owners haven’t remedied the way she treats their customers.
I came to bring a family member here to eat and spent a very good amount. The new hostess hadn’t been trained, and my food was missing the $3 (!!) avocado. Upon inspection, I realized I had accidentally tipped $21 as well since you tip using the digital machine before you get your food (I used Apple Pay). I went to ask for a refund for $24, and since the hostess was new, it took about 20 minutes for her to have a response. In this time, my phone had died. She showed me receipts on her app and told me she didn’t know which was mine (she never offered a receipt, but she was working alone with limited training and doing her best). We found the receipt that matched the money I spent, but the card number did not match mine. Since my phone had died, I asked for a cash refund.
This is when she called the manager Stephanie, who came up and began interrupting me and insisting that they could not refund my money or ensure that the money goes to my card. She then began yelling, calling me a weirdo. I asked her if she could just let me speak with the waitress instead to deescalate the situation, but she insisted that this restaurant is hers and she wouldn’t leave the area I was seated at. This was quite crazy to me, paired with her calling me out of my name.
I ended up having to call the police and follow up with my bank over this, which is so unfortunate given that the situation could’ve been settled quickly and politely without the escalation Stephanie added. This restaurant banks on their customer base being made up of people of color, but if you do not want to have to deal with police and a young woman insulting you while holding onto your money, I would go to one of the many other raw vegan restaurants in LA (same price point, but you will actually get customer service along with it—you won’t have to fetch your own water or order like you’re at a cafeteria for a $100+ meal). All I was asking for was my money back from an overtipping mistake and an item I never received (the waitress saw I had no avocado and agreed I should get a refund; she...
Read moreMy husband and I are new to the vegan lifestyle and have been on a raw cleanse for a few weeks. This place was recommended by another raw vegan spot in Long Beach. At the time, we were in Orange County but figured we would give it a try.
Besides the fact it took over an hour to get there, we were overly excited to embark on our new healthy eating journey. So here was our experience this past weekend!
We entered the restaurant, three people were working behind the counter. As we walked in they all looked our way but never acknowledged or greeted us. Keep in mind this was our first time so we walked around by the drinks and fridge area to check out the different items they had on display. After about 10 minutes of not being asked if we needed help, we went and stood by the counter top where two people appeared to be waiting on food or just finishing.
Finally a gentleman said hello and I asked him about the menu. He pointed to the menus on the countertop. I expressed that we’re were new and had never been here but was referred. He said oh okay and went on back to packing orders. There was another lady behind the counter making a shake or something. She never asked if she could help either. My husband and I were just looking around trying to figure out the menu. Finally after about 20 min we left the counter and went to sit at the table thinking a waiter or someone would come by to assist us. WRONG. Instead we waited and waited u til we decided to go back to the counter to ask if we could place an order. Keep in mind while at the table we walked over to the salad bar to see what they had and a different employee kept going back and forth and she never acknowledged us.
Bottom line the service was poor, the food was okay but very pricey. We spent $14 on a piece of cheesecake that was bland and just okay. $41 on two tacos and a salad. I wouldn’t mind the prices of the service was better. For that price you would at minimum expect to be greater and offered assistance once I communicated this was our first time.
Wait time- TERRIBLE Price- Okay for area but unreasonable for quality of service Service- WHAT Service? Did someone say Service! They have no idea what that is.
Bottom line take your money elsewhere. I thought I found a spot I could visit on the days I don’t want to prepare my food but I was wrong for thinking this place was it! Go at your own risk but don’t say I...
