I ordered the chicken burrito. Inside comes with the meat plus everything listed on the menu (Burrito 2.0). The tortilla wrapper is probably the signature ingredient of the burritos. It has those grill lines, so it makes it extra crispy when you take a bite into it. The total cost for just the burrito is $13. (Total $15, because 10% tip at the time of this writing Feb 2025). It was very worth it. The sides come with a few slices of radish, (not pickled), one grilled green onion, and a container of red spicy salsa.
There are a few chairs on a bar table inside and some tables outside to eat. The inside is pretty small and is a tight squeeze for a group, so it is recommended to eat outside.
Summary: CLEANLINESS. The inside restaurant and outside seating are clean. The tables are more likely to get dirty from the previous customer because the staff can only do so much before another customer snatches the next available seat. COSTS. $ Affordable. ~$13 for a good, portion-sized burrito. CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff were quick, friendly, and professional. FOOD QUALITY. The ingredients are fresh. I love the grilled tortilla wrappers, even if it may be generic. Grilling it makes it tastes so much better. FOOD QUANTITY. Average to large portion size. Good bang for your buck. WAIT TIME. We went during peak lunchtime around 12 PM on a Tuesday. Since we came in a group, we probably made the line longer, but there was no one in front of us. Food took about 10-15 minutes for our entire group of 5 to receive all...
Read moreUpdated 1/17/20: Went for a third/fourth time to try the bean and cheese burrito, a shredded chicken chivichanga, and a costille steak taco since they ran out of crispy tripa. This was my first visit after all the Buzzfeed Worth It and Netflix Tacos Chronicle’s exposure. The taco flour tortilla was kind of off, not having that soft pliable bite that the mini burritos had, surprisingly since the latter had thicker tortillas. The shredded chicken filling for the chivi was good but just a tad overcooked and dry. Bean and cheese was overall the best, but not as amazing as the items I’ve had previously. It might be a little bit inconsistent after the hype they’ve received and I went a little bit before closing too.
Some of the best Sonoran style flour tortillas you can get asides from Salazar and Burritos La Palma. They have a really amazing texture with the softness and just a little bit of chew. Have gotten the caramelo tacos with carne asada and the crispy tripas. Their meats are full of flavor with char and smoke and the grilled leeks served on the side are nice to eat together, with bites in between each. Also just got the full size burrito recently and it's one of the best in town. The space got expanded too so it's way more comfortable...
Read moreYIKES!!!! Sonora town is screwing around.
We used to be frequent customers at the MidCity location, until we found a screw in our food! Yup. A screw nail bolt whatever you want to call it. As I bit into my caramelo, I felt something hard hit my tooth & spit out a screw nail. Disgusting right! Luckily it didn't break or chip my tooth. I called to let the manager know right away, took the plate as it was & walked back to the location for a new plate.
To my surprise the so called manager (Kenny) insinuated I put it there, mind you food was on it, said he wasn't able to see the screw on the camera (huh?) and that they don't give out "free food." Excuse me? Free food? I paid for the meal. I requested a refund & the least they could do is offer a complimentary meal. Nope. All this guy did was give me a refund & to go on the website to email the owner. The owner or whoever was on the other end wasn't much help either.
I never really looked at the reviews until now & even more disturbed! Others say they found hair & bugs in the food. What!? Now adding objects to the list, they deny it & have a bad attitude towards neighborhood customers. It’s a zero stars for me.
Careful & check...
