Great design, bad quality, and appalling customer service
NOTE: Be aware that RRB deleted this negative review from their homepage.
I purchased my bag via the European distributor, Simple Big Store. While I absolutely love the design and functionally of the bag, my overall experience has been an absolute disappointment due to the bag’s appallingly poor quality (see pictures) and the customer service provided by RRB. (1) After less than 10 days of moderate use, without nearly maxing out the specified weight limit, one of the small cords detached after giving it the slightest tug, likely because insufficient material was sewn in. This issue was largely cosmetic since I did not use that cord, but soon after, the second cord began to detach as well (see pictures). (2) Within approx. 15 days of total use, the material sewn over the rigid bar that rests against the handlebar started to fray (see picture), which is a significant concern as it is a crucial structural component. In this condition, I would not trust the bag to withstand any further touring. (3) When I reported these problems to RRB via the European distributor, Simple Big Store, I was only offered a "free" repair if I paid for shipping both ways to the US, which would cost me around 100€. Considering the bag cost 300€ and deteriorated so quickly under moderate use, this solution was unacceptable. After extended and frustrating discussions, RRB finally agreed to replace the defective bag. (4) Five months later(!), I received a replacement bag, but it was the wrong colour. Furthermore, before sending it back, I noticed the wild and amateurish sewing of the reflective strip at the font of the replacement bag (see picture), showing that (a) my first bag appears to be not just one bad apple and (b) that quality control at RRB seems non-existent. In summary, I am extremely dissatisfied with the product and the handling of my concerns by RRB. I cannot recommend this bag or the...
Read moreI’ve been looking off and on for a backpack that would fit a 14x20 block of watercolor paper and this is the one. I’m an artist who paints watercolors plein air (on site) and I’ve been looking around for quite a while for something smaller than the 19x25 portfolio/backpack that I’ve had for the last 20 years. The Large Roll Top Backpack is fantastic. Big enough for everything I need to put in there. Tripod, watercolor paper, easel board, shade umbrella. Even though the dimensions are listed as 14” wide, there’s a LOT of depth to this thing that will add to the width as long as you don’t jam pack it. The 14x20 block of paper fits in easily. I’ll also mention I will never buy a bag again with a dark interior. The bright orange inside is perfect. The two large pockets on the outside work well for all the other things I need to carry along, whether it’s tape, multi tool, stakes for the tripod, etc. The material it’s made out of is robust as all get out and I can’t find a flaw in any of the stitching. I think this bag will last the rest of my life easily. I put my hi-vis reflective vest around the pack when I ride my bike. It zips around it as if it’s a torso. Perfect. I’d also like to add that before ordering I was concerned if the paper was going to fit in the backpack. Ashley corresponded with me and even sent a couple pics with a tape measure to assure me that it would and we discussed a possible return if it didn’t. GREAT...
Read moreI bought a Burrito Handlebar Bag from them a year ago and I really liked it. It is well made, they used very good materials, and the simple and elegant design of the bag absolutely impressed me.
This time, I went to their shop during my holiday in Los Angeles and wanted to get a backpack. I was searching for a good backpack for months, but none of the "commercial" backpacks could fulfill my requirements: easily accessible, big pockets, a lot of room, waterproof/water-repellent material, aesthetic design. Well, the Medium Anything Pack has all of these properties and even more. It is a beautiful and sturdy bag.
When I went there, the shopkeeper lady helped me a lot. She brought me several bags and she told me that they have more colors available. We had a good discussion about their products and I made the final decision. The payment went smoothly, I could pay by card. I also got a small and nice pouch with zipper and a few stickers. The shop was very clean and spacious. In the background I could see the guys working on the products and I could hear the sewing machine. That was a good addition to the shop's atmosphere. I recommend their product and service, because they do an...
