Oliver’s Bistro is a hidden gem that brings a touch of culinary elegance to the neighborhood. The French onion soup is a heartwarming classic, rich with caramelized onions and a perfect crust of Gruyère. The escargot, bathed in garlic and parsley butter, offers a delicate balance of earthy and indulgent flavors. Lobster ravioli arrives as a revelation, each bite bursting with the sweet, tender essence of fresh lobster, enveloped in a silky cream sauce. The shrimp curry is an unexpected delight, with a vibrant, aromatic blend of spices accompanied with mango and plátano maduro. Don't skip dessert. The German Streusel is the original owners recipe and has never left the restaurant - it provides a sweet, satisfying end to the meal. But what truly sets Oliver’s apart is Phil, the general manager. His warmth and engaging conversation make you feel not just like a guest, but a welcomed friend. In a city brimming with dining options, Oliver’s Bistro stands out as a beacon of hospitality and culinary excellence.

Great location in a quieter South Beach area. Dining experience was mediocre. The food was better. The ambiance was disturbed by a manager (Phil) who started to scream on the top of his lungs, seemingly trying to discipline one of the staff members behind the bar. Not professional at all based on his tone, volume of speech and profanities coming out of his mouth. Definitely not a team leader, zero people skills or emotional intelligence. We were observing him from our table with the rest of customers. He had zero clue and appeared enraged. This incident definitely impacted our willingness to come back. It was embarrassing to watch his coworkers (wait staff) to go around the dining room and apologize to every table for their “manager’s” inappropriate behavior.

Thursday, March 16th @ 10:30am Parking- street parking (I walked) Service was solid. The ambiance is amazing and inviting! I enjoyed my French toast. It was filling, savory, and a great portion size. (Did not photograph) My girlfriend loved her omelette. Be warned, they do not provide A la carte. She wanted a side of a single pancake but was told that she would have to buy the two pancakes and that they don't offer singles. I took away a star because of gnats. I understand live plants are great for the air we breathe but the fact that it attracts gnats is problematic while eating food. There prices on Yelp are not accurate to the menu prices at the restaurant so have that in mind while ordering. Great place to eat while in Miami.

I celebrated my birthday with my favorite meal - eggs Benedict on Tuesday. My server was a lovely young Serbian woman - Zivana (spelling?)... I'm am EXTREMELY particular about the preparation of the poached eggs and the hollandaise must be house made from scratch and true to the traditional recipe...NOT easy to find anymore - I've sent back countless breakfasts after being assured the hollandaise was housemade only to discover that it was just a packet of knorrs or some other restaurant version of fake hollandaise all over Miami Beach...That's cheap and LAZY in my opinion...I don't pay $22 for a lousy powdered, disgusting hollandaise imposter...The grilled tomato with olive oil was also quite delicious! So, if you like excellent service, fresh and properly prepared food then Oliver's is the best version of that on SoBe...It's absolutely where the locals go - not remotely like the tourist traps everywhere on the beach...I'll be returning very soon for what has always been consistently excellent food and service over the years at reasonable prices...Thank you for such a wonderful birthday...

If you come here do not come and sit on the side of the building you will literally get no service. I sat out here because I was working on my laptop and they had a charger. I was seated at 5:57 pm but happy hour was not honored because the server took his precious time coming out, and after I ordered a coffee, I asked about happy hour and he said no he could no do it.

He never returned to take my order, so after 30 min I had to go inside and place a food order with manager inside. I came back up outside and waited at the table, for another 30 min server never came by. I finally went in to check on the food, and he got defensive and said “it’s a busy kitchen”. I have worked in food service and this is not the way to treat a paying customer. He then said because I was on my computer and had headphones in is why he didn’t come by, but that was just an excuse. These servers get 20% tip regardless, so sometimes they give very little effort.

The food is good here and Phil the manager is nice and professional. Just make sure you a good server as it could ruin your dining experience or in my case,...

Today we had a great server, I think he was from India he was a young guy, very kind. Its a pity that we were not able to sit and enjoy a meal as we walked away due to some miss communication from the blond girl who seated us. It started with that we got seated and we asked for a bottle of water due to the scorching heat today. My husband proceeded to order a coke to which the woman snarled that our server was coming. No server came. Then 2 men came that were seated by another hostess with dark hair, and the server came right out and got to order before us. We were waving and trying to get someone’s attention we got the mens servers attention (mind by this time we have been waiting for 20min no water). He then proceeded to get our server! Then we were sitting with lunch menus, and our server said lunch was over. By this time we were just so fed up so we left. No fun writing this review as the last review I gave you was a stellar one. Very unfortunate that the blond woman did a poor job by even notifying our server we had been seated, especially with lunch menus and making us wait for...
