Going here we went to celebrate a friend’s birthday, we had a group of 6. The views were beautiful and we lucked out on getting a wall seating.
Unfortunately our services ended up taking 3 hours as we watched 4 different groups, two with the same waiter as us, get seated 30 mins after us, eat, and receive the bill in and hour and a half max. The other tables also ordered more drinks and appetizers yet got in and out long before us.
When we were sat we waited 30 mins after to place our 1 appetizer, 30 mins to receive the appetizer then place our drinks. Waited another 30 mins for the drinks to then place our food in which everyone around us was already eating they’re food, yet we had to wait another 45 mins just for the food to come to us. It also started smelling like vomit near us during this time so not only were we being dragged along, not being serviced properly, but now had to sit near bad smells with often no waiter in site or when we called him over he did not care to check in at all. We ate for 40 mins and during this time we placed a surprised birthday dessert and asked for the bill since everything is taking an immense time. Yet we were stuck waiting another hour, 30 mins for the dessert after placing it around 40 mins prior, as well as another 30 mins for the bill. We were not happy. We left at closing with a reservation at 8:30pm and watch many groups arrive after and leave before us. With much more care and attention from there servers. When we finally received the bill we wanted to check the order as we no longer trusted our waiter. This was the only time he stood next to us waiting for us to look over the bill after taking so long for anything else, but the bill wasn’t even itemized which we thought was expected but all we received was a total and a forced 20% service charge with a tax of 9% as well. You can’t change the tax but if we could lower the tip to 0% we would. We were running late for another reservation and did not have time to care so left right away and didn’t ask for itemized cause it would have been another 30 mins just for that.
We hoped the food would make up the service at least. As I ordered the lobster pasta I was hoping for lobster in the pasta for $60+, what I received was maybe a cup of noodles, the pinchers not the full claw only the pinchers of the lobster and a quarter of the lobster tail. Yet a whole shell of the lobster lays on top to distract you I promise you they split a lobster 3/4 ways to serve 3/4 plates. So don’t expect it. The pasta sauce it self was the most basic sauce low favoring out of the entire trip this place definitely gave me the most tasteless food when the type of food we have odd should have said otherwise.
We understood there was a situation near our table the required immense attention, but for no communication, not seeing our waiter for more than half the time we waited, and for him to clearly not care for us even when first being sat on, we deserved an explanation and an apology. We looked for the best in the situation which was ONLY the view, but this experience led me to never want to come back and only recommend other locations. I’m sure other waiter are more attentive and hope this never happens again to anyone. But for the amount paid this was...
Read moreI recently went to the Versace Mansion for the first time while celebrating a close friend’s bachelorette weekend. We loved it so much!
The atmosphere is amazing! The venue is beautiful; we were taking pictures all day. We were there for almost three hours, talking, eating and enjoying our time. They didn’t rush us from our table. We were sat right beside the pool to the far left side so it was a perfect spot and view of the whole venue. The service was great - friendly and helpful. The music (instrumentals of modern classics - r&b, pop, jazz, etc.) isn’t too loud so you can actually talk to your friends at your table.
We went for lunch because we had heard they had a special. $38 USD for a 3 course meal - appetizer, entree and a dessert. I had the Octopus Carpaccio (had an additional $8 surcharge) as my appetizer, the Faroe Island Wild Salmon as my entree and the Sorbet — it was pineapple that day. My Octopus Carpaccio was so good! The flavours were fresh and just the right amount of flavour. Three of us had the salmon, it was good, but I wouldn’t say it was the best I ever had. It prefer my salmon to be a little more on the savoury side, whereas I found this salmon to bring out more of the sweetness of the fish. It was served with green beans and carrots. I had the pineapple sorbet, I found it okay, you can tell that it was house made, but the pineapple they used wasn’t ripe because it isn’t very sweet. If you like a less sweet dessert it may be a great choice for you.
A few of the girls had ordered the Caesar Salad as their appetizer and they said it was amazing. One of the girls order the Burrata, it looked really good and she said it was so fresh and tasty. For the entree one friend order the Prime Filet Mignon (6oz. With a $10 surcharge) as their entree, it was literally JUST the steak. No veggies, fries or a salad. She was pretty disappointed in the size at first, but it was a perfectly cooked medium rare steak so she enjoyed it. Another friend got the Grilled Branzino, she said it was great too; it was served with green beans and veggies, just like the salmon. While, another had the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli — it looked great and she said it tasted as expected.
Three of us had the sorbet but the other three had the strawberry shortcake. It looked great and they said the cream was delicious but it had a very thin layer of cake so if you’re expecting cake, it isn’t really like that haha it’s mostly cream and strawberries. To be honest, I would have had that instead of the sorbet because of my preference but some of the girls wanted more cake.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time there and I’d definitely go again and try something else from the menu. Highly recommend booking the lunch special and making your reservation in advance! It was packed when we were in there. Dress nice and bring...
