Exploring Brunch Spots in Milwaukee, USA

I’ll start with the positives - and there were a lot! We came on a Sunday around 2 pm - sliding in an hour before closing. They have an upstairs, but it closes at 1 pm. It was pretty crowded, and so we grabbed seats open at the counter. Pretty comfortable, and our server (Bree) was amazing - attentive and quick! She offered spot-on suggestions:) I would recommend, if you don’t have the patience to wait or hope for first come counter seating, come before 10:30 am. We had croissant beignets to start thanks to Bree’s suggestion - and they were fantastic! My tip is to double dip!! Dip first chocolate sauce and then the berry sauce to cover - to die for!! We tried chocolate solo, and it was underwhelming, but the two sauces together really made it over the top delicious! Enough to split between 2 or 3 people. We then ordered the breakfast burrito and the chorizo scramble - both fantastic and would order again! We had enough left overs for breakfast the next morning at home. I really want to come back to try the lemon berry pancakes! I have to admit - this is one of those times I really wish it was possible to give half stars - it probably was more like a 4.5 in my book, but only because it was so cold inside, I never took my jacket off! We sat near the front at the counter - which was great because otherwise it would have been 35 minute wait for a table - but it was really cold. I did order a hot chocolate immediately to curb the chill. You could tell it was end of shift and so there were a few tables that needed to be picked up. But to be fair, we arrived only an hour before closing. Being that we loved the food & service, it only seemed right to give 5 stars. Parking is on the street, but we found parking pretty quickly and very close by. We’ll definitely be back!

Ever since this place opened, it has been one of my favorite brunch spots in Milwaukee. I came here on Sunday morning with my fiance and we only had to wait about 20 minutes. Our food and drinks were outstanding as always, but this review is moreso about my particular experience at Brunch that morning. As my fiance and I waited on the sidewalk for our table to be available, I noticed nearby groups complaining about a 45 minute wait (we seemed to have "beat the rush"). I work at another breakfast restaurant in this city and let me tell you...if you don't have time to wait for your table or for your food, go home and make your own meal!! (Side note...45 minutes isn't even that long of a wait at a BREAKFAST restaurant on a SUNDAY morning. I've heard of places having waits well over 90 minutes). My heart went out to the staff scrambling to apologize to impatient guests, explaining that there were only two servers working that morning. I saw the hostess and bussers jumping in to help the servers, I even saw the food runner doing extra tasks. All hands were on deck that morning, and as a fellow restaurant worker in this staff shortage world, I must say KEEP DOING YOU. Y'all had top notch customer service to guests whose attitudes didn't deserve your kindness. I applaud the way everyone at this restaurant maintained friendliness and attention to guest needs on such a busy morning. That is hard to come by for individual servers, let alone an entire staff. To the impatient guests of this restaurant and all other restaurants in Milwaukee -- our industry is HURTING, and some kindness, patience, and understanding goes a long way.

Ive been here during the week for both bfast AND lunch and wanted to try bfast on a Saturday morning..... **Parking - not bad considering this in DT MKE, we did get a nice spot. **Wait time - not bad, 20 min to the tee as promised **Service - here's where I have mixed feelings.... Our server was very sweet and prompt, our coffee was DELISH as well as the beignets <3. I ordered the newly added chilaquiles (a must try at every restaurant I personally go to to decide who has the best), and my partner ordered the lemonberry pancakes. My chilaquiles were delivered to me plain as day with barely any green sauce on it making them look dry and completely bare on the top with no fixings whatsoever minus the steak that was hidden underneath my poached eggs. When I asked the food runner about my toppings, he looked at me confused as t to what I was talking about, so I asked my server, and she did confirm via the menu that it WAS in fact missing everything the picture displayed and said that this was a new item so there must be some confusion.... Well, they not only missed all of the toppings on my quiles, but there were also out of the sauce that goes atop it all (for some reason the site does NOT have the item on the menu, but it IS on the menu in the restaurant). The server then looks over to my partners hot cakes and notices that the kitchen FORGOT to add the lemon sauce to his cakes and brings some back for him but by the time he can enjoy them, they are so cold that he had to ask for a re- heat..... Completely UNACCEPTABLE for 77$ bfast (including a gracious tip) for food that was basically dry bfast nachos and cold hot cakes.... (i was also NOT offered a temp on the steak, which some pieces can red and left uneaten) I would love to comeback if management would like to compensate..... Also, the pic is displaying the pepper in the salsa that was offered to me (please remember to REMOVE stickers pre veggie wash)

As a huge fan of brunch and breakfast in general, I'll admit I'm inclined to be enthusiastic about the fare from the get-go...so I made two trips here to ensure this wasn't just a case of rose-colored glasses. The first time around I was pleasantly impressed with the variety on the menu - from sweet brunch to savory lunch, there's a bit to choose from. Once my eyes landed on the Mac & cheese burrito, I was sold. This comes with some huge noodles and creamy cheese gently wrapped in a large tortilla, with a toasty "brunch" of approval on top to seal the deal. It also comes with chorizo and egg to add a little protein to the equation and keep things savory. This one is a generous size, so saving half for later was easy. Also an easy choice as I ordered the Sweet-Tart yogurt parfait to share. It comes with honeycomb which was an amazing natural way to satisfy my sweet tooth. Don't let the Lighter Fare title fool you: this one comes in almost a bowl size. The second time around I went for a little crunch in my brunch and got the Egg White Brunchtada. Also on the Lighter Fare, but the two heaping tostadas are enough for a decent meal. Added the chorizo for a spicy kick and would definitely recommend. My S/O went with the Biscuit & Gravy Benedict, and boy was that sausage some of the best! Also a little spicy, so added some good flavor to the savory biscuits.

A Breakfast Delight at Brunch it Up! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Brunch it Up, and I must say, it was an exceptional breakfast experience! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. I ordered the pancakes and the steak chilaquiles, and both dishes were simply outstanding. The pancakes were, without a doubt, some of the best I’ve ever had. They were fluffy, perfectly golden, and had just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite felt like a warm hug! The steak chilaquiles were equally impressive. The steak was tender and bursting with flavor, perfectly complemented by the crispy tortillas and rich salsa. Every bite was a delicious explosion of taste that kept me wanting more. To top it all off, the coffee was fantastic! It was the perfect balance of robust and smooth, making it an ideal companion to my meal. Our waitress always had a smile on her face and super pleasant. If you’re looking for a breakfast spot Milwaukee that delivers on taste and quality, I highly recommend Brunch it Up. I can’t wait to return and try more of their wonderful menu offerings!
