This place is an icon and has certainly had a long run but, with that being said, I went there late night on Saturday with a couple friends and had the worst chili ever. I ordered Chili Nachos Supreme. The nachos were a spicy, spicy mess. I couldn't even finish the plate. The end result sat in my stomach like a burning brick. I went with two friends who ordered a bowl of chili and a chili dog respectively and they both regretted it as well. My one friend found it to be the most expensive single bowl of chili he's ever had. For the late night drinking crowd in the area that have been coming here forever, maybe this is good but I would never recommend it. The service was great and friendly. The folks behind the counter did a great job serving and moving people along but that was the extent of my happiness with the place.

A local favorite! We gave it a try after hearing the rave. Really cute place and love the vibe and location. Definitely a little pricey and not what we expected. $8+ for some noodles, beans, crackers and a little meat. It was extremely salty and could not finish it myself. I would have loved extra toppings but they were extra $$$. Overall, I see the nostalgia and think it’s a super cute place, but not sure I would go here again, or at least need to give some other items a a try.

Can you really consider yourself a Milwaukee resident without dining at this fine establishment? Absolutely not. So get your butt out the door and eat some Real Chili because everything else is fake. The steaming heap of goodness is served with everything you could ever wish for and really satisfies the soul on a cold mid-winter milwaukee night. Ps. Don't believe the whiny haters. This place will make you realize why you really live in Milwaukee.

Real Chili is a staple of the Milwaukee dive scene. Pay at the counter, belly up at the counter or grab a table. Super friendly and chatty staff make this a local hotspot for post bar shenanigans, it's the perfect place to get some food before stumbling home! Feel free to stop in during the day as well, the atmosphere will be a little more chill-e.

Real Chili is in the business of doing one thing and doing it extremely well. Photos on the walls of celebrities dining are a self-proclaimed resume and testament that it is easily the best chili hands down. They offer Chili at a variety of heat levels w/ various fixins- w/ or w/o beans, cheese, onions and sour cream. Mix and match to your hearts content. They also offer their chili on hot dogs to make for amazing chili cheese dogs. Although I've never actually had one, I'm sure they're great!

Top it off with a tall boy of miller or pabst or some other craft brew and you'll quickly understand why this is a...

The chilli was great. The "Stingy" little bowl of it...For the price, I think they could have given me, a pint of it to take home as well....I remember when it was in its "hay days". There were lines waiting for a seat...and it was something to eat...not just something to experience...What I received could have been complimented by a side of 2 peas and a slice of julienne carrot...Yah know something I could brag about to my friends who don't know what it's like to be hungry... Bygones be bygones Real chilli rests with the dodo birds, and fishes, and all of those things that were once so proud and beautiful in reality.... Some day, I hope they realise what happens. When you throw the baby out with the wash... Enjoy my money, and think your so smart! You'll not get another farthing from me, to feed your snout...don't forget to thumbs up if you...
