I a live in MS &’ my sister and I decided to try this place after leaving a kickball game &’ my goodness Food was absolutely disgusting. I ordered the fish breakfast and my sister order the shrimp bowl. She had a mango drop I had a strawberry mimosa.. when seated (at the very back literally 5 ft away from the garbage can they use to dispose of all food) we ordered drinks and took time to look over the menu.. drinks came.. I don’t knock plastic.. but WHY did mimosa not come in a proper cup but a mango drop (to imitate a lemon drop) came in a regular cup size? Nevertheless, my sister opted for pancakes on the side of her shrimp bowl and as soon as it came it looked NOTHING like the pictures online. The bowl had small popcorn sized shrimp, cheddar cheese and eggs on top of cheese grits… it was served ALL at different temps with neither being desirably hot.. the pancakes were EXTREMELY thick and not very presentable. We had to ASK for napkins, straws &’ utensils… the waitress was HORRIBLE at customer service.. I took a bite into this pancake and was immediately turned off because there was a very apparent flavor of lemon.. the menu DOES NOT specify this flavor so I went to the counter to speak with my waitress. With multiple ppl being around, I whispered to her inquiring if there were different pancake options and she replied very loudly “NO WE DONT HAVE ANY OTHER PANCAKES WE ONLY HAVE ONE THAT IS LEMON AND VANILLA” .. immediately I was turned off at the fact she never even attempted to explain that from the beginning….. so, I asked for grits… it took all of 30 more minutes for me to get my fish breakfast that came with scrambled eggs cheese grits and toast.. grits were the ONLY good part of this breakfast.. the fish is not fried in fish fry as opposed to either a mustard coating and seasoned flour OR a wet batter… the coating between “skin &’ fish” was undone and mushy (this was said fish btw) and the eggs were for sure cold before being put on my plate….. let’s talk about the environment… while I understand employees get tired… there’s NO REASON why they should allowed to sit in front of a large floor fan, next to (and I do mean NEXT TO) paying customers, in front of the garbage can sweating and wiping their faces and what not. Needless to say, a mess was made and one guy came to clean it up, THE WHOLE BROOM FELL ON MY SHOULDER because there’s not enough space and the organization is nonexistent. Nevertheless, the waitress never returned to my table to inquire whether or not we enjoyed our food, needed refills for our drinks, NOTHING. There was no warm greeting or gratitude for dining.. I definitely DID NOT tip her because there was absolutely no effort being put into the service.. for the grits alone I’ll give this a 2/10 overall… but BELIEVE ME.. I will not be returning to this establishment and I hope management seeks better quality food, cooks, hosts/waitresses/waiters and overall environment
I did not take pictures because they wouldn’t have been worth it, nor if you’re not big on environment, service and quality food… my opinions may not align with yours but this was a complete waste of not only money but time that could’ve been...
Read moreOne word describes this place. That word is "DELICIOUS"! I was actually just taking an early morning ride and passed this restaurant. I like trying new places. I'm so glad I tried The Breakfast Spot. Everything was delicious. Because I wanted to experience more than one dish, a friend joined me. My friend ordered the Mardi Gras omlet. I ordered the Pancakes and Chicken platter. The folks at The Breakfast Spot do not skimp on food portions or flavors. The Pancakes reminded me of a delicious lemon pound cake . That's honestly the best way I can describe the delicious lemon and vanilla flavor they have. And yes, they had crispy edges that I ABSOLUTELY loved! The chicken was hot, fresh, and crunchy. The star of the show was the Mardi Gras omelet (although the pancakes are super close , almost a tie). The omelet was loaded, and I mean loaded with Crawfish, Shrimp, Conecuh sausage, cheese, spinach, mushrooms, green onions, tomatoes, green peppers and a delicious cheesy flavorful sauce. It was so big that even sharing it, we brought some home. You've gotta try this place if you want some delicious food made to order, fresh, and good customer service. I will most...
Read moreThis was my second time eating from the restaurant first time my coworker brought me an egg sandwich with fries, and this was my first time going inside, cute little cozy place. There’s a few little kinks that needs to be addressed, my first was upon entering the building I was greeted which was awesome, really appreciate the food was hot on both times so be prepared to be patient and know that your food is cooked to order, please talk with your employees about eating in front of customers that’s patiently waiting for their food/drinks I understand and know everyone is ENTITLED to their lunch breaks but this should be done away from customers view, and PLEASE find a better solution for storing your wine and orange juice, I witnessed 2 different set of hands from the time they were brought from upstairs until they made it to the ice box where drinks are served for anyone that wants ice, cross contamination again. Pictures with wine bottle is below to understand what I’m talking about. Will be back again and hopefully everything has been worked on and simple problems addressed, once visit and see a different will go back...
