We went there for the first time tonight. Ali excited after hearing it was authentic Greek cuisine. We don’t mind paying more if the food is great, unfortunately this place is waaayyy too expensive for what you get. We had the lemon chicken and souvlaki as a dinner special in a pita pocket. The flavor was god of both. The lemon potatoes were overcooked and bland, the white wine sauce too lemony, making it a bit sour. The salad was just shredded lettuce with a little feta crumble and dressing. Flavor was good. Now, 1/2 chicken is 1/2 chicken, most of the plate was covered in potatoes, the pita pocket had 2 small meatballs and again, most of the plate was covered in lettuce. The pita with its little meat was more of a lunch portion. And no, I’m not one to overeat, I usually have leftovers when I go out. I actually ate most of my son’s potatoes since he didn’t care for them. Soda: they only have small bottles and not much to choose from, not even diets! No Refills, my son had 2 sodas, which was basically one soda and one refill = $10!!! I had just water since I can’t have that much sugar. Entrees come with a complimentary dessert, it was a 2-bite lemon custard with phyllo dough and honey glaze. The custard was a bit grained but the flavor was very tasty. Again, we go out a lot and I usually like to leave just positive reviews since there are enough people that only ever complain. Unfortunately, while most of the flavors were good, there was very little protein. The quality and prices would warrant 1/2 off what they charge. Also the staff we interacted was friendly and professional. If you want quality food at fair prices, go next door to Jerusalem, or drive to Longs, SC to Bistro 90. Jerusalem is priced similar to Santorini but has fantastic food, and Bistro 90 has a great kitchen with unusual foods, prepared to perfection...
Read moreWhat a gem! Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Lav and Christina hit it out of the park, from the food to the service everything was top notch. Olive bread and high quality olive oil are given to start. Tried watermelon cocktail, I can’t remember the name now but was light and refreshing. Then I had the grilled octopus, which was perfectly tender and flavorful simply served with olive oil, oregano and a squeeze of lemon. I also tried the flaming saganaki, if you want some theatrics and entertainment then don’t miss this since they flambé the cheese table-side. For my entree I had the paidakia, 4 good sized grilled lamb chops served with rice which was delicious and tender as well. Was enough food left over for me to have dinner the next night. To finish I got the galaktoboureko which is phyllo pastry with a cream custard in the center, great way to end not too sweet but hits the spot. I highly recommend! I hope they don’t change the quality or hospitality over time.
Edit 8/25 I’ve been here many times now and they do not disappoint. I tried almost everything on the menu and everything is delicious, it hard to choose what to get because everything tastes great. Quality remain high. Love that they have been creative with specials and adding more items to the menu. Highly...
Read moreA truly terrific dining experience. We are locals and recently dined here with another couple. We shared the Spanakopita and Greek sampler(hummus, tzatziki and crab dip) appetizers which were both very tasty and homemade, served with delicious pita bread. We also had the P.E.I. mussels which were plentiful, fresh and in a flavorful sauce. Three had the Moussaka which was out of this world. All of the flavors melded together perfectly for a great tasting entree. One had the Branzino which has skillfully cleaned at the table(by Nicole) and served filleted with lemon potatoes and was also very good. All entrees were accompanied by homemade bread which was delicious and plentiful. All of the waitstaff were pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. Nicole, our server, was the best. She explained the menu selections, made suggestions, was always checking in on us and was a pleasure to talk to. The owner stopped by to talk to us, see how our meal was and gave us some background information on the restaurant. He also owns Zardin, a healthy eatery in Market Common, which we previously had take out from and was also great. We had to pass on the wonderful desert offerings since we were too full. I would highly recommend giving this place a try, you will not be...
