I am in love with Evelyn’s! It’s definitely a hidden gem. I had never even heard of it but now I’ll definitely be going there atleast monthly. The entire staff was amazing! Our server Lindsey was very knowledgeable about the menu and she was super kind and friendly. The manager, a black guy was super awesome too. I was walking around looking for a place to plug up ny phone and he offered to plug it up for me at the host stand. He also checked on us several times throughout the night. The food was anazingggggg!! And it was so reasonably priced. I had the oven roasted chicken. It was super tender and juicy. It came with potatoes and asparagus that were also delicious. My friend had scallops. I didn’t try the scallops but the risotto that it came on top of was life changing! That was the best risotto I ever had in my life. I had dreams about that risotto. It was soo creamy and good. My other friend had sea bass and it was delicious as well. I plan on going back and getting the sea bass on top of the risotto. The cocktails were great! I had the “glamor girl” and the “train to no where.” They were both strong and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire experience and this might be my new favorite restaurant in Nashville. I feel like usually this quality of food costs like $50-60 just for the entree and then you have to purchase sides for an additional costs. All our entrees were between $28-$35 and they came with some type of side. The ambiance was great. It was cute. I can’t wait to go back!!

It’s rare for me to enjoy everything about a restaurant — I’m a very picky eater, especially as a vegetarian. I had low expectations for Evelyn’s, given its American cuisine, but they truly exceeded them. The vegetarian options go far beyond the usual fries and Brussels sprouts — they’re creative, flavorful, and elevated. Highlights included the Confit Potatoes on a red pepper sauce (perfectly cooked and full of flavor), the Shishito Peppers (non-spicy, lightly cooked, and a hit with everyone at the table), and the Bread Pudding, which is an absolute must-try. The chef’s creativity really impressed me. Ambiance: I dined with five strangers for a conversation-focused event, and the setting was perfect — quiet, classy, and subtly romantic, with soft music and a sophisticated vibe. Service: 10/10. The staff was friendly, attentive, and guided us through the menu. A sweet touch: everyone gets a blank postcard as a keepsake at the end. Parking: Valet is available via the hotel, but self-parking is easy, and the restaurant validates for two hours. Overall, Evelyn’s offers a truly worthwhile dining experience — thoughtful food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Let me start off by saying the food is great and we have never actually ate in the restaurant, only the bar. That being said, the service both times (but most especially tonight) was AWFUL. My husband and I eat out at least 3 times a week. We are super supportive of the hospitality industry and it takes A LOT for us to take the time to write a review. Tonight we came around 5pm and were two of four people in the bar and zero in the dining area. It took about 5 min for the bartender to even acknowledge us and she just handed us drink menus and walked away.. We waited another few min while she talked to another employee until she cane back and we both ordered a kettle and soda. She abruptly told us she doesn’t have kettle. (this comes into play later) No problem, we ordered another vodka. She dropped them off and walked away for another 10 min or so..We wanted some straws and a food menu and when we asked for them, there was such an attitude.. It’s hard to explain but you could just tell she was annoyed. We were able to order food relatively quickly so I thought we were back on track. When we ordered a burger to split, you would have thought we spit in her face. She scoffed! Once we got the food she did check in fairly quickly to see how are first bites were and then promptly disappeared 30 min. We wanted a second round of drinks half way through our meal but she was nowhere to be found. At this time, we were the only people at the bar and two couples in the restaurant. I say this only to explain that when servers or bartenders are extremely busy, we get that!!! Finally when she returned we ordered our 2nd drinks and hung out for a bit. We were ready for the check but she was at the end of the bar for several minutes and didn’t want to yell across the bar so we asked another gentleman (I think who was a barback?) for the check. As he was running our card, we asked him if we could get change for a $20 for the valet. He seemed to be unsure and at that time the bartender was walking by to take care of another couple who had just sat down so he asked her “hey they were wanting change for a $20” to which she, without even looking at us, snapped “we don’t do cash” and kept on walking. As we we were leaving she had a bar cart and was restocking the bottles. What was on it?? A huge bottle of kettle one. So…she just didn’t feel like checking for it?? This is the first time we have ever tipped below 30%. Having a person in this position working in a hotel bar is rediculous. We won’t be back, which is super unfortunate because, again…...

If I could leave a zero star I would. We arrived early before our on a Friday night for our 9 pm reservation and sat at the bar and had a glass of wine each. Our friends called and said they were running 10-15 minutes late. The hostess came up to us and said we will have to seat you now at about 9:10 and said we need to hurry and get your orders as we close at 10 pm. I stated that our friends called and said they would be here at 9:10-9:15. She stared this would not be possible for them to join us as they closed at 10 pm. Confused, I said the kitchen closes at 10? She said no the restaurant and bar closes and the staff goes home. I stated that you took our reservation for 4 at 9 pm and you continue to offer reservations up until 9:45… but you close at 10 pm? She said oh yes that must have been a mistake. Still sitting at the bar with my wife the bar tender chimed in and said Yea we’re not a Broadway bar that stays open late If you want that go down to Broadway. I stated that our reservations were at 9 we were early and it is surprising that you completely close up at 10 on a Friday night being a Hotel restaurant and on a weekend. She said it’s really for “security reasons” we do this. I said “What security reasons? The other bartender spoke up and said no it really the owner; they don’t want the staff to have overtime and when the restaurant is low on customers we are told to close up early. I asked so my reservation is not good here unless you have other people present and eating? They said yes basically. We were rushed and pressured again to take our table and treated very rudely. I call and told my fiends to meet us down the street at Halls Steakhouse where they seated us treated us amazingly. This was about 9:45-9:50 and took us right in.

I never write reviews but I have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant in my life. I live in Nashville and eat out most nights of the week at nice places. I will never come back to Evelyn’s restaurant and I do not expect for it to be open too much longer with...
