Before I even get into it, the service here deserves a 10/10 and the drinks were spot on. They are definitely on the top of their game, and doing the best they can to componsate for what had to be the WORST FOOD OF NASHVILLE!!!
Let’s get into it…. Starting for the apatizers. My friends ordered the crabcakes and not only did they come out cold in the center, they had the smelled of cheap pre-packaged garbage you can get from restaurant depot’s frozen section. The fact that they charged $14 for two bland lukewarm crabcakes, which made my two friends sick is beyond unacceptable. I ordered the chicanery board and split it with my other friend at the table. That was decent.
🤦🏾♂️ The main courses….. Jesus F’ing crist this was literally the worst food in Nashville. I started with the salmon dish, and you could tell that whoever was in the back cooking had zero days of experience cooking anything. The salmon was allowed to overcook within the oven, and then the “cook” put the fillet in the salamander to brown causing a ring of rubber to encase the fish, which itself was not seasoned at all (NO salt NO pepper) prior to preparation. The lemon salsa verdie, tasted of a cheap bannapeer mash with seeds and did not even incorporate lemon zest to give the slightest tast of lemon. The bed of couscous the fish was placed on was boiled to death, and instead of the cook putting the peas, carrots, and onions with the pan first (w/ salt and pepper) to carmalize them, they tossed all of that into boiling water and blanched all the flavor from this part of the dish.
It was trash and I sent it back.
My friends got the chicken, and the majority of their dish was ice cold. It was obviously that the plate itself was dressed prior to the chicken being cooked, and stored in a fridge. The chicken itself was boiled instead of baked, and was again flavorless. I thought at some point during this meal I had Covid, because nothing had a taste… but just realized that instead of virus I was suffering from bad cooking techniques.
At this point the beverage manager came out to address us, and to see what issues we were having with our service. We reiterated to him that the service portion of our meal, and the drinks were great, but the actual food was killing the experience. He explained to us that the cook was new, and that both the executive chief and the sous chef were both off on the same day (Monday) and there was not an executive commanding the dinner service. Both of them should be fired immediately for simply having the gual of setting this as the norm when they know customers (regardless of number) we’re going to be served.
During the wait, the kitchen staff sent out a yuka potato appetizer to hold me over…. Sadly the potatoes were not cooked through and were oily.
I sent that mess back as well.
The pork dish was sent out, and it’s a dish straight out of particle physicist’s dream. On the same plate they were able to achieve an absolute zero temperature in the mustard sauce (which was just ground mustard), lukewarm brussels sprouts, and a cut of pork chop that was over cooked and coated with a maple glaze of aunt jemima store bought syrup.
This was trash.
I took one bite, took it out of my mouth, put it back on the plate, and sent that back.
They gave us comped deserts which were decent, since it was clear it was made out of house.
Fire the kitchen staff and get better food for this...
Read moreThis was one of the more disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We came for dinner, and it sounds like the reviews favor brunch at this restaurant so that could have been our first mistake.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, great vibes. But the lighting and ambience should match the decor a little better.
Our hostess brought us to a section of the restaurant and just stood there. We had no idea which table we should sit at- it was just strange. There were a handful of tables occupied at the restaurant which was surprising for 8:00pm on a Friday night. The hostess did walkthrough the menu and specials once we were seated.
Our waiter showed up quietly and started with “anything besides water?” There was no introduction, no greeting, nothing so I couldn’t even tell you his name. When I go to a restaurant, I appreciate when the server engages and gives recommendations but it was clear he wasn’t on that level of service.
Drinks were underwhelming, the rind on the old fashioned was disgusting- not even sure if that was an orange. He brought out the smoked old fashioned in a box but immediately opened it without saying anything so we didn’t have any time to enjoy the experience or take pictures or videos.
We were never offered refills on drinks and had to ask for WATER refills. This happened multiple times and he didn’t even fill all 3 glasses at the table. If the server was more talkative, I would have happily ordered a different drink but with the service and subpar drinks, I decided to save money.
Food took a long time and was overall underwhelming. The wait staff didn’t clear any plates or make room on the table. After the bill arrived, someone finally showed up to take our plates.
We were never asked how anything was from the server. The burger came out very rare but we ordered it medium. The manager (maybe) noticed us looking at the burger and offered to “cook it more.” That was nice but there was no acknowledgement that it was undercooked according to the order- only that they could “cook it more.”
Our waiter silently brought the check, no offer for dessert, coffee or any other drinks.
For the prices and vibe, this was a massive disappointment with some of the worst...
Read moreI took my boyfriend here last night for his 50th birthday. I was very excited to try a new place. Inside is beautiful! The floor plan, the decor, and general ambiance is exactly was I hoping for. The staff was super friendly and they had a solo artist, Mitch Clark, who was great.
First, I should have known when we walked in because other than one person at the bar and two single ladies sitting separately, we were the only other guests in the restaurant. It was obvious the two ladies were hotel guests as they were working on their laptops and/or on the phone. But the food was subpar!
We started off with their crab meat dip. That was the tastiest item we got but is was luke-warm, it wasn't even hot. The crackers they served with were also very good. Our meals however did not live up to the crab dip. My boyfriend got the halibut and he said it was "ok" but had no flavor. I did not try it but thought the presentation was meh. I ordered the gnocchi and had to send back the first plate because they burned it. When the second plate arrived, I was still not impressed. the gnocchi also had no flavor. I took about 3 bites and left it alone. Honestly, it tasted like they took a bag of instant mashed potatoes, sectioned them off into little bite sizes, and then fried them in oil. They also had no flavor, except for the oil they sat in, and the presentation left much to be desired as well. We also ordered Brussel sprouts and they were not very well cooked. It was deceiving because they had the nice crispy flakes we all like to see but not cooked all the way. We also ordered their sticky potatoes - which was not good either. I think they must have drizzled honey over them. The only plates that were finished was the crab dip and my boyfriends halibut. The gnocchi, Brussel sprouts, and potatoes were not even halfway finished.
I hate to give a harsh review because the atmosphere and wait staff were great....but for almost $200, our meals left us deciding we'd only ever come back and have drinks. I hope they turn it around. I would not have expected such a horrible meal especially since we were the only customers in...
