Visited this location around 8 pm tonight, it was busy but not packed, there were several open tables. I ordered a frozen margarita that came out in a fresh-from-the-dishwasher, HOT glass so the drink was 50% liquid and no longer frozen. The gentleman that brought the drink to the table did not speak much English so after I expressed disapproval of the drink he repeatedly says “no” over and over again. I ask to speak to someone who I can better communicate with and in comes Carlos. He storms over, same drink in hand and very rudely says that all small margaritas come out in a “room temperature” glass and I could either take the now liquid drink or order a larger margarita because they only chill the large glasses. I politely tell him that the glass was not room temperature because it was HOT and my drink was no longer frozen by the time it reached my table. He then starts yelling about how busy they are and that all of the glasses are coming straight out of the dishwasher and that I could take it or order a large.. His attitude was VERY nasty and condescending the entire time, from start to finish. I asked to speak to a manager who had nothing to say and barely offered any type of apology so my party left and I will never return. I’ve been to smaller Mexican restaurants during MUCH busier hours and have never experienced them not being able to serve a frozen margarita that’s actually frozen. If you can’t keep up with demand then that needs to be communicated to the customer upon ordering, I don’t know many people who would be happy with a “frozen” margarita that’s NOT FROZEN. And more importantly, please teach Mr. Carlos some manners and customer service skills because his behavior tonight was intolerable and he is the sole reason as to why I...
Read moreLas Palmas is a Mexican restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. There are several locations of Las Palmas in Nashville. I went to the one on Hayes Street. Las Palmas is an authentic Mexican restaurant and should be a must go to anyone who eats Mexican food.
Mexican restaurants are like pizza places. Everyone says that the one place is better than the others. The thing that I don't like about most Mexican restaurants around where I live is that the flavors/spices are muted for American taste buds. It is not the case at Las Palmas. Everything was flavorful and tasting like Mexican food should.
The clientele of Las Palmas was extremely diverse, reflecting on the excellence of food/service at Las Palmas. There were Police, nurses, blue collars, lawyers, and others. It was just a cross-section of America enjoying awesome Mexican food.
The food at Las Palmas was spectacular. Everything was so good. The service at Las Palmas was just as superb as the food. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. Everyone that I encountered at Las Palmas was of Hispanic origins. There was not a language barrier if you do not speak Spanish as everyone seemed to speak English as well.

Read moreWe noticed this new Mexican restaurant right down the road from where we are staying in Nashville so we decided to try it out. The service is great and the salsa has a fresh tomato taste, but it was lacking cilantro, which is one of my favorite ingredients in salsa, and it was quite mild, no spice at all; however, the last several times we've gone, the salsa has been spot on. I got the fish with steamed vegetables and rice. The rice was great and the veggies were pretty good, but the fish was a bit lacking in flavor. Also, we had cheese dip. It tasted great, but the amount they served us was not enough for the price, in my opinion. It was quite a small amount for two. Overall, decent, but I look forward to trying out one of the many other Mexican restaurants in the area. **Since our first visit, we have gone several times and ordered several different meals on the menu. The fajita nachos with chicken and steak is delicious. The lunch special that includes a quesadilla and guacamole salad is amazing; I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It was the first quesadilla I have ever ordered at a Mexican restaurant that I was able to pick up and eat. Usually they are so juicy that I have to cut them up and eat them with a fork, but this one was perfect. Also, the rice is delicious. Overall, one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at. Definitely worth...
