Don't know what to say really. This whole situation is just surreal.
This was my regular watering hole until recently. Myself and a whole large group of friends and coworkers frequented this location several times a week but no more.
I was there with my wife and a couple of friends kind of late on a Friday night. We're sitting there at our table chatting and having fun. We know the waitress so she's kind of hanging out too. It's a very congenial scene.
Out of nowhere the bouncer, this power trippin, wanna-be, over-aged flunky, comes up to me and says, "You're the guy I just had to split up from a fight. You have to leave." As I had been sitting at my table the whole time, I just looked at him and said, "Negative. You're mistaken." And my friends back me up by letting him know that I had been sitting with them the entire time so he was wrong. He gets a confused look on his face because it is now obvious that he's not so sure I was the person so he walks away. Okay, that was that.. so we thought.
20 minutes go by and here he is again saying someone else said that I was fighting and that I "matched the description." So, his story isn't adding up. First he says he split the fight up himself. Now he's saying that someone else said they saw me. So which is it? We're all now rather annoyed and it is showing but we're explaining to this Barney Fife how he's wrong as I had been within the presence of my friends the entire time. At any rate, this time he would no longer listen to reason and he made us get up and leave. Meanwhile, whomever it was that I supposedly was fighting with is nowhere to be found. As best I can tell, my accuser does not even exist.
So we go outside and yes, we're now pretty agitated because I've been accused and am now being kicked out of my favorite bar by some rent-a-cop, tough guy, retard who doesn't even know me. Anyway, I'm letting this scumbag know exactly what I think of him and he continues to lie now saying he saw it himself. This is, of course, the third variation on his story.
So the manager comes outside and decides that he wants to interject himself and to interview me like it's CSI or something. I suppose to try to salvage a large chunk of business that they're going to lose because we're now telling them that we will not be back and we will encourage our LARGE group of friends/coworkers to do the same. We're talking about thousands of dollars that they will likely lose every week now. Anyways, this manager guy, Cal I think his name was, is trying to ask me what happened. To which my reply is plainly, "I have no freaking idea. You tell me." I don't think he realizes it but it continues to be insulting for him to ask me these questions. It's clear he believes his middle-aged troglodyte bouncer over his loyal customers.
Anyways, I finally just get fed up and we leave vowing to never return.
Food: Meh, it'll do but don't go out of your way for it. Beer: LOTS of good choices. Great showing of local flavors and the prices are very fair.
Just watch out for their over-reaching,...
Read moreWe showed up around 10:30 and were looking forward to sitting at the bar for a drink. We were a group of 4 girls and wanted a quiet place to stop. The bar was not full and we thought it was a great option for us. The guy at the door carded us and never smiled or welcomed us. He let us in and we went to the bar and sat down. The bartender immediately said he wouldn’t serve us - it was. A “Judgement call”. We were a group that was 58, 53, 47,& 21. We were laughing as we sat down because the bar reminded us of the bar that we were working to open. The bar height is at least 2 inches too high and we are struggling with the table heights at our new restaurant in Wisconsin and it was ironic. The only drinks we had tonight was at dinner several hours earlier. The one person in our group hadn’t even drank anything. The people sitting next to us were shocked at how we were treated and stopped us as we were leaving. The bartender was completely rude. He did not even talk to us. It seemed that he really didn’t like his job and just wanted to get out of there and told us he wasn’t going to serve us. I tried to ask him what happened and he ignored us. I told the guy at the door that we were told we would not be served and he stated that we obviously had been over served and were really drunk. What he did was ridiculous as some people didn’t have anything and 1 of us had 2 drinks between 7& 10:30. We actually though they were joking with us. We thought they were playing a trick and were trying to be funny. The place was the least busy place on Broadway. All I have to say is that if you can not be happy in your job, Give good customer service, and really care about what you are doing, don’t be in a hospitality business!
We were at the one on Broadway. There were only 2 people sitting at the very front section of the bar and just a few on the other end. As we entered the people in front of us were drunk and we waited in line and the bouncer said they were being jerks and had sent them away. The bartender never even looked at us, he had his back to us the whole time and never even let us say anything to him. It was the strangest thing. I am sure that your sales were not what they should have been as we had been in there last year and did not have this experience and there were many more people there. One girl sat down and tapped on the bar to the tempo of the song, but it was nothing obnoxious. We were laughing because the bar came to my friends chest and my sister who hadn’t even had a drink was excited to have a bushwacker and had waited all night for that to be her one drink. It was so shocking that he just said I’m not serving you and hadn’t even looked at us or talked to us. The people sitting there couldn’t believe it. Needless to say we won’t be...
Read moreSo I’ve been to brew house hundreds of times over the years and love love love the food. This past weekend myself and some friends wanted to watch the Alabama game as well as the Preds. We decided to go to brewhouse midtown for their delicious wings. We found a table around 6:30 and ordered a round of beers. I guess it was the first waitress’ break because after serving us she didn’t come back but later showed up with coffee for the staff. Our second waitress came to the table and we ask about the game and she informed us the channel can’t be changed that we should move to watch the Bama game. I noticed the manager with a TV remote so I approached her to ask and she immediately throws up the sheet to block me and says “NO” in the most disrespectful manner. Not only our table but the 5 ladies beside us and 2 gentlemen at the bar all wanted to see that game. So instead of changing one television they wanted everyone to relocate. We payed the tab and went to Hi Fi Clyde’s and had a...
