Unbelievably bad experience. 3 of my girls friends from high school (we are all 70 now), got together for the weekend to cheer up one of the women who has been diagnosed with cancer and is getting ready to start treatment. I want to begin by saying, she did have a couple of drinks before we walked across the st to Margaritaville. When we got there our night started by the server telling her that due to public intoxication, she would not be serving her anything. I let the waitress know that we weren't driving but staying in the hotel directly across the st. Another of the women let the server know about her lymphoma... again, no one cared. The night went down from there. We placed a food order. A short time later a different server brought out the food, but put the wrong food in front of the wrong people. We were trying to tell him who got what, but he suddenly got made, picked up all the food and stomped off. We were stunned and had no idea what was going on. About 10 minutes later the 2nd server came back with our food and again placed the food in front of the wrong people. We again let him know who had ordered what food, and he angrily told us that we shouldn't have switched seats...... we never changed seats and had no idea why he was so angry. A short time later a man came by identifying himself as the manager. We told him that we didn't understand what was going on or why the servers were upset with us, and also told him that we had never changed seats. All we were told was that he would talk to them. We never heard or saw the manager again. The original server brought the bills out they were again, all wrong and had to be re-done. We left, never to return. I'm an ex-waitress and realize that the customer is not always right, but in this case it was the server's that continued to make mistakes but blame the customers. We are still shaking our heads over...
Read moreOther locations have been wonderful and very accommodating to my wife's gluten allergy. This location (due to the server) got the order wrong, gave my wife a regular bun, ignored the gluten concerns, and she was sick for 3-4 days after. Other locations have been WONDERFUL- even having the chef to come out and specify the gluten-free replacement items. THAT is why we eat here. But we'll never return. We informed the manager- hoping to save the next gluten-sensitive person, and he offered a free dessert that we kindly declined. Not looking for freebies- just the things you advertise as gluten-free on the menu. Orlando, FL needs to send their crew here for a month to get this location up to speed. Myself? I have zero allergies but was unable to eat my dinner because I could tell my wife was wronged on her order. 45 minutes later the server showed up with a replacement order of the sweet potato fries (in gluten-free fashion), but it was too little too late. I believe it was less the cooks as it was the server's inability to relay the gluten-free free side of the order. My wife was in pain for several days, so just make sure the server understands the order. Ours did not. Had he done it up right- their gluten-free options really are great. That's why we came back over and over, but never again to this location. It was our 26th anniversary, and she wanted Margaritaville. Terrible night. Again- the server acted like he had little knowledge of that aspect of the menu, so we put the blame there, and not on Margaritaville as a whole. Out of a dozen visits at different locations, this was the only bad one. Just...
Read moreWe dined in at Margaritaville on a week night recently-- just wanted to grab an appetizer and a round or two of drinks before checking out Broadway. Our server was polite but very slow and appeared to have very few tables. Drinks took a really long time to make their way to the table and they were so sugary we elected to not get a second round.
When our server brought our nachos to the table one of us accidentally knocked a drink over while making room for the dish. Our entire party works in the service industry, so we know how frustrating and annoying this is for the server. We started helping her clean the mess, but then she began to have us pick up the broken glass with our bare hands so she could mop the area. We all know this is not proper protocol. Our goal was to help her clean up the mess but not cut our hands over it. We then had to pick at our $22 nacho (that tasted like it had cheese wiz on it) for 20 minutes without any plates, silverware, or napkins and no check-in on the server. She replaced the spilled drink, which was very kind of her, except by the time she brought it over we had already been done our appetizer and ready to go.
Our party understands how the service industry operates and we are very patient when going out to eat, but this is the worst experience we have had in a long time. Food was overpriced for the quality and service was lacking. At the least just go over proper safety protocols with the staff. Was excited for my first Margaritaville experience but left deciding that I will never be...
