Oscar's Taco Shops - Vandy — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

To start off, their guac is GREAT, but I am disappointed about my overall Oscar's experience! I ordered through Ubereats and the Cheese Quesadilla menu item said that it came with refried beans, guac, and sour cream. Yum! When I received my order, it only had cheese on it--something I wouldn't have ordered if I knew that was only going to be cheese. I checked their own website to make sure, and it said the same thing--refried beans, sour cream, and guac included.

I called to ask about it (I wasn't sure if the kitchen messed up or if they have the descriptions wrong on all of their menus) and let them know that their menu says it comes with those things and mine were missing. The woman on the phone kept telling me "no its just cheese," so I told her that their menus say differently and wanted to let them know so they don't have more issues and she just said "Ok." It was a little disappointing to not get any apology/understanding for a mistake on their end, given that I approached it pleasantly and mainly as a courtesy to let them know in case their menu was wrong (I had already gotten my UberEats refund, so I wasn't trying to get something out of them or anything--just wanted to let them know).

I would love to try them out again, but would be hesitant to get takeout, given that their menu isn't accurate online on multiple platforms, including the menu link directly from their website. I would be concerned that I would order something based off of an incorrect description and be...

We were hungry after touring the Parthenon so we stopped by Oscars for some lunch. We started with pico and chips. The pico was fresh and very tasty. I ordered the bean and cheese burrito. It was good. But I wish it had some fresh onion chopped up in it. My husband ordered the hot chicken taco and the carne asada taco. He said the hot chicken taco was amazing and he’d definitely order it again and he wished he had ordered 2. The said the carne asada had a lot to it but it wasn’t really noteworthy. Not bad, just decent. My some ordered the birria tacos. He said they were really good. Classic tastiness we’ve come to know and love from birria. My other son had the fish taco and chicken taco. He said The fish taco was ok. I tried it and it seemed the fish was dry and then frying it had made it drier. It also had that “fishy” smell to it. I did not like it and if I had ordered it, I wouldn’t have eaten it but he did eat half of it. He said the chicken taco was yummy and he’d definitely order it again. Should’ve ordered x2 of them. We also got the Mexican cokes which is always better than American cokes. Cool place and they have a “salsa bar?” Idk the name but it had the verde, red sauce, pickled onion, and cucumbers on the bar. We’d def go back. Got the surf and turf burrito and other orders First bite into the burrito, I bite into a sewing needle Repulsed but come here a lot so don’t want to cause a big issue Ask for them to make another and they do Finish the meal but me and the friend I’m with start discussing that I should probably ask for the money back (for just the burrito) given the severity of it. They say no because I had already eaten the burrito, and then start implying that I planted the needle into the burrito because they don’t have any such needles in their store We leave and my fiancé calls them rightfully angry and they say the same thing to her and hang up on her and she calls back and convinces them to give me my money back if we come back in right then They did give us the cost of the burrito back, but they still start implying that we must have planted the needle because “it was so clean” ( it wasn’t) I’ve gone here and their other locations over 30 times in my tenure in Nashville, but I’ll never go back because of this absurd encounter and accusatory attitude of their staff over $10 haha.
