Absolutely Abysmal Service – Avoid at All Costs!
If I could give zero stars, I would. This Papa John's location is an absolute disaster in every way imaginable. I placed an order online, and the website showed my order was successful—great, right? Wrong. I waited…and waited…and waited. Nothing. No update—just radio silence other than my card was charged. So, I tried calling, thinking maybe I could get some answers. Big mistake. They apparently treat their phone like a cursed object because not a single soul bothered to pick up.
Frustrated, I decided to drive to the store in person, hoping to clear things up. Turns out, my order was completely lost, and the staff couldn’t have cared less. No apology, no urgency—just blank stares and a collective shrug, as if I had just asked them to solve a difficult calculus problem.
And the attitude? Wow. I’ve encountered bad customer service before, but this was next-level hostility. When I asked what happened to my order, they acted like I was the problem, not them. One employee even had the nerve to yell at another customer who was just trying to get their food. The energy in that store wasn’t just chaotic—it was actively hostile. Every customer who walked in was treated like an inconvenience, like we were a burden just for expecting the bare minimum of service.
The best way I can describe their work ethic is to compare it to the sloth at the DMV from Zootopia—but somehow slower. There was absolutely no sense of urgency, as if time itself moved differently inside this Papa John's. It’s a pizza place, not a retirement home! People came in and out, all equally confused and frustrated, while the employees shuffled around like they were in a deep existential crisis.
Save yourself the stress and order from literally any other pizza place. I wouldn’t trust this location to get my order right if I was the only customer in line and they were the...
Read moreOrdered Sunday, pizza was paper thin, they forgot my extra ranch I paid for, and sent driver to wrong address (doordash). I don’t care that it took a little longer but door dash guy told me to come down and wait for him. Mainly the pizza and ranch were my issues. Pizza was paper thin with little to no sauce to a point I essentially threw it out other than a slice and a half I powered through. They(Michael at papa John’s) said they gave me pizza credit to my account. I order a pizza last night(Wednesday) to use pizza credit but there was no pizza credit. Ordering over phone is a nightmare as it’s not the actual store you talk to it’s a call center. Call center puts my order in then transfers me to store to apply my credit. Michael is not working and the guy ask many questions about my previous order and what was wrong with it. I answer all these questions for them to basically say I don’t see the credit on your account and can’t give you pizza credit for this order but I can for a future order. (The entire reason I ordered was to use the credit) I said forget it forget everything just cancel I don’t want my pizza and I’m done. He says “ ok I’m sorry have a goodnight”. I then get a text and call about a half hour later or so from door dash asking me what room number. I already got something else to eat and said I canceled that order. Doordash driver response well you’ll have to cancel with the app/doordash and I said nope I called it in and was on the phone when I canceled.
Papa John’s - get rid of doordash, and for this specific location get someone who can make regular pizza and remember the...
Read moreThis place is incompetent for delivery, especially through the app.
I've ordered vegetarian pizzas for a diabetic that had bacon in it. Was assured refunds and credit for someone posing as a manager, and then told by another "manager" I would receive these credits...and never did.
I've ordered 3 hours early through the app to ask for a 5:45pm delivery only to call the store at 6:30pm and be told it will be another 45 minutes until a driver will be able to leave the store.
The place is fine for pick ups, but don't expect "management" to do anything if they completely fail at their responsibilities, or you make a complaint.
*addendum - use the Charlotte location if you're able. Much more consistent quality, availability, and timing.
I understand that this West End Ave. location is one of the busiest by volume PapaJohn stores in the entire state. That being said, parking for pickup is cumbersome, and as stated in the original review; delivery via phone or app is roll of the dice for getting your order at all or it being what...
