Honestly I’m a little disappointed in the experience here. I expected the same quality and large variety of Indian cuisine that Woodlands in Nashville used to have. When I heard the owner moved here, I immediately wanted to try it. I cane with my family and had a very OK experience.
The selection was pitiful. Having only 3 curries is not what I expected from this place. I remember woodlands having many, many more options. If you have 3 curries and then 2 rice and 1 noodle dish, the balance just isn’t right. Their hakka noodles were tasty, but very very oily. Their paneer (cheese) dish has very little paneer. The pav bhaji (curry on a hamburger bun) was was too thin of a curry and tasted more like water than spices. The carrot halwa (dessert) was vegan, so no milk was used, but instead a lot of oil was used which made it quite oily. It was still tasty though. The jalebi (fried dessert) was also too oily and soft, meaning that it was not fried at a hot enough temperature. Their kheer (rice pudding) and mango pudding desserts were nice. The naan they bring fresh to the table was also nice. We ran out of naan quickly (5 pieces for a family of 5) and they never brought more. The masala dosa (bread filled with potato curry) was ok. Not that crispy and again, oily. The sambar (soup) was just ok. I will say that their rasam (another soup) was A+. It was flavored well and spicy. Maybe a bit too salty at most. The aloo bonda (fried potato ball) was also ok.
Overall, this place was just your average Indian buffet. Would I come again? Probably not unless someone else REALLY...

Humble, kind, pious ownership. Madhu greets us with a smile, pleasantries, and sometimes complimentary naan bread and Chai tea. The least I could do is leave a review.
Always clean, with a high-class vibe. Beautiful golden statues and tabla drums adorn the space. Smiling young people and wise elders populate the dark booths and tables. You’re likely to meet a few yogis.
Amazing lunch buffet, possibly the best ever, with plenty of filling vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. No meat in sight! The flavors are diverse, traditional and fresh. And the desserts are ridiculous.
The dinner menu can be overwhelming - if you’re on a date, split the Thali, the last thing at the bottom of the back page - a veritable mini-buffet in itself, enough for two people at 23 or so dollars.
This used to be Woodlands in Nashville - I think the best has gotten better since they’ve moved to Franklin.
Who wants the horrible karma of meat-eating in their lives? This place is a blessing to Tennessee, where healthful eating is a continuous challenge.
Peace, love,...
Read moreBest vegetarian and vegan food in Nashville area! The chef and much of the staff used to be at Woodlands, the Indian restaurant on West End, Nashville. When Woodlands closed for renovations, the staff needed work, so they opened Mysore Palace. Located near the Cool Springs shopping, it is convenient to Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin. The atmosphere is quiet, with subdued lighting. We didn't have reservations but our party of four was seated immediately. My wife and I had the onion rings appetizer. Our friends had vegetable samosas. Both appetizers were served with two dipping sauces: green spicy and brown slightly sweet. I got paneer Tikka masala, served with white long grain rice. Absolutely delicious! I don't remember the names of the other dishes, but a small sample of each told me I would have been satisfied with any of them. Naan bread was fresh, light, and tasty. For dessert, I got gulab jamin. A tasty finish to a fine meal. Price was reasonable, too. Appetizer, two main entrees, naan, and dessert came to just over $40, not counting tax. Our new favorite...
