I had my second visit to Fourth Wall this past Saturday 5/28/2022 when I took friends there who live in the Irish Channel. I first "discovered" it when it popped up as a Google Maps suggestion as the streetcar was nearing the area in October 2021.
I immediately loved the area in the street in front of the place with benches, tables and even hanging plants. Once inside there are so many nooks for people to sit, study and converse. There's even a courtyard/patio in the very back of the mostly long, narrow building (be sure to check out the large room off to the side towards the back) which has a great variety of artworks on the walls and elsewhere. If you enjoy reading, there's a good collection of used books that can be read on premises or purchased to take with you.
There's a well stocked bar beyond the coffee area, but I'm not sure when it's in service. I do know that spiked coffee is sometimes available in the coffee area.
Fourth Wall is definitely my favorite place in New Orleans for coffee (try the London Fog), conversation and...
Read moreFourth Wall Coffee is definitely my favorite coffee shop in New Orleans. I've been a few times now over the years but during this recent trip Kyle and Hope were both so kind and welcoming. Hope was so nice and we chatted about coffee shop culture and espresso machines. I saw Kyle the most and he made such a warm impression not just on me and my partner but also my friends who were visiting New Orleans for the first time. It made us feel nice bringing them somewhere that felt genuinely friendly and cozy. The decor here makes for a calm atmosphere that is super inviting with lots of plants and a calm tucked away courtyard that's a great escape from the quarter's busy buzz. It's a perfect place to hang out and take a breath for a minute. As for the drinks-- I've had the chai latte, dirty chai, and regular latte throughout my trips and each one is seriously delicious. One morning we grabbed a pastry that was super tasty too. Can't recommend this place enough. Thank you again Kyle and Hope for the welcoming hospitality. I'll...
Read morePssst…this place has THE BEST coffee. Not that crappy, bitter, must add a million things corporate stuff here. If you are looking for coffee that has complexity, body, and flavor, this is THE spot. This small bites to accompany are also delightful. We had two flavors of quiche and we surprised by the execution: light, flavorful body with the flakiest crusts. Not overwhelmed by dairy and ingredients added for flavor. The ambiance and decor are just the added dusting of dopeness. This place feels like where the artists/college students/musicians/industry people grab coffee or a beautiful cocktail. The courtyard is a literal place of respite. Came back later before close for a caffeine boost and was surprised that they make matcha lattes THE RIGHT WAY. Frothy, magically earthy when prepared as it was created. Do yourself a favor and...
