I want to preface this review by saying we visited on Christmas Eve, so we fully understand that the restaurant was busier than normal. That being said, this was still a less than stellar visit. We made a reservation two months ago for our last meal of our Honeymoon, which I’m pretty sure I indicated on the reservation. We’ve visited Ruth Chris restaurants in DC, NYC and other major cities for special occasions and we absolutely love what the restaurant offers. It’s become our traditional celebration restaurant. That’s why we chose this Ruth Chris to be our final Honeymoon meal and our Christmas Eve meal. When we arrived, we waited for a while before we could be seated. Finally when our table was ready (table for 2), we only had one chair at the table and had to wait for the other chair to be brought over. We also were squeezing between tables and their tray of food (could have easily been knocked over) to get to our table. The waitress was nice, but very brief with us. Didn’t ask if we wanted wine or anything else to drink other than water. We had to specifically stop her and ask for a drink. Another disappointment was that the steaks were undercooked. Thank goodness the plates were so hot and we were able to push the steak into the plate to continue cooking it. But in no way should that be the case. Lastly, the crème brûlée. We always get this when we go to a Ruth Chris (goes back to our traditional celebratory visits). We knew what to expect and how the dessert should appear. My husband’s came out with a nice, thin, crisp sugar coating - as it should. Mine, on the other hand, had nothing but mounds of uncooked raw sugar. I was crunching sugar more than I was getting the custard underneath. We also know that when we’ve indicated things on the reservation in the past, the staff would make sure to acknowledge and do something nice for the dessert. Again, it was Christmas Eve, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn’t have time to do something like this. Unfortunately, we were not the only ones having issues. The two tables next to us experienced underdone steaks and issues with their dishes that had to be sent back a few times. Like I said, we understand that the staff and kitchen were much busier than normal, but if things had been done correctly from the beginning (the steaks and dessert) then the visit would not have been so disappointing. We love Ruth Chris restaurants and we will still visit other locations, but next time we are in town, we will probably pass...
Read moreI have been to several Ruth's Chris locations and I have to say I NEVER had a disappointing experience until this one. We had booked a reservation weeks in advance for Christmas Eve for our Honeymoon, but when we arrived and checked in, we had to wait for 10-15 minutes for our table to be ready only to be placed in the back corner of the restaurant. Our server seemed like she was not in the friendliest mood and we had to mention what drinks we wanted for our table besides water. When we got our food, my wife's steak was not cooked fully (fortunately the plate was hot enough she was able to cook it more by pressing it into the plate), the creme brulee was not prepared properly as the sugar was not melted into the dessert enough so it was literally eating lumps of sugar and the creme. When asking our waitress about getting a new one, she said "yes" but had a look on her face like It was an inconvenience. There were two other tables that we spoke to next to us that explained their own problems with their meals and wait times to get seated who were also on time for their reservation. Not to say it's understandable that it was Christmas Eve, but for the quality and standard of Ruth's Chris, you expect a certain level of service by the prestige of this restaurant and amount of money you are paying for your meals, it is expected to have the most amazing experience, especially since we were there celebrating our honeymoon and this was the one time going to one of their franchises that I had been to that I was disappointed from the time I walked in to the time we left. I will absolutely be attending other Ruth's Chris locations but unless something is done by management to rectify these issues, we will be eating elsewhere next time we...
Read moreUPDATE previous review was a take out order and there was a 3☆. This time I am dining in with friends as a party of 5. We did not do a reservation but were able to sit at the bar side high table. Lemon drop margaritas were ordered and unsweet tea (no sweet tea). The ladies sitting next to us had been waiting 2hrs for food because they were short staffed. Some people were still recieving food from the lunch menu at 4pm We had to wait for them to wipe down the table. They served our drinks but no bread. We were advised to order everything at once to get the food in a timely manner. Most people stood at the door about 30 min before they could be seated. We had another server, Gabby, to help out because our original server was swapped. Gabby was awesome!!!!!!!! The bread was served with butter but no saucers (they came later). The appetizer was bbq shrimp and they were a nice size with a very rich, creamy sauce. The butter for the bread was bit salty for my taste. Everyone in my party ordered butterfly fillet mignon and i had the stuffed chicken. Everyone said the steak was good. The chicken was good but i did not like the cheese and herb it was stuffed with. The baked potato was awesome. The Brussels sprouts are cooked with bacon fat but they were good. The asparagus was whole and with a hollandaise sauce. The potatoe au gratin is diced instead of sliced and topped with a layer of cheese. The sweet potatoe casserole is topped with a crumble of brown sugar, sweet spices and pecans. More bread was brought out. The dessert ordered was bread pudding, which was suggested. On this visit i give a 5☆, definitely an improvement from the previous togo review...
